I can remember this being discussed on the old forum but I can't remember the outcome so the question is, has anyone here installed their own wood burner and gone through the building control route ?

yes - and they were fine with it. Its vents that they are fussy over (so a loosing air tightness, and with it heat.....) - but ours was small enough not to need a vent.

Ah thats good to know. Did they take long and can you remember the cost ?

it was part of a whole house submission I am afraid - you only need to give notice a week before install.
