My old mini-dv camcorder is looking rather dated. I'm looking to replace it with probably at Kodak Playsport ZX5. Before I take the plunge - is there a compact digital camera that will take as good video and sound? Ideally something fairly robust (waterproof is poss). I would be willing to go up to about £180
Any recommendations??

If you want to take vids then a camcorder is better. Usually better ergonomics, better autofocus, better video format.. they usually have fixed lights on the front for poor light - ok so it's of limited use, but it's better than nothing.

I can get a Nikon P300 for £180 - how does the vid on this compare? Is it worth an extra £90?
