didn't somebody win a race yesterday & then get told they were out for being last at the mid-point ?
why are they doing it ?

It does seem to be beasting quite a few of the athletes, but whether it's adding to the spectacle I wouldn't like to say.
I guess the idea is to mop up the stragglers.

suppose it's a bit like the mid-race sprints in the turdy France etc
maybe they should offer a bonus of half a second off your finishing time to the sprint winner 😀 😯
