[Closed] Dental insurance confusion

Trying to decide whether or not to sign up for Denplan insurance via work. It says it does not cover:

"any treatment which was prescribed, planned,
recommended by your dentist, known by you,
or is currently taking place at the date your
cover starts. "

It's not quite clear to me what "known by me" or "planned by me" (as it says elsewhere on the site) actually means. Does that mean I can't claim for anything that I thought might need doing before I signed up? I think it probably does...

I think it's to cover cases where you go to the dentist, he looks and says "that's a root canal" and you go "no problem, let me take Denplan out and come back".

Before I joined Denplan my dentist first completed, and charged me for, known / required work then gave me a Denplan grading on which my premium was based. I'd give Denplan a call as I've found them very helpful and they have worked out well for me. In hindsight I wish I'd ticked the box for implant cover (bike accident = lost front tooth) but they will still pay a large amount towards the implant to the max policy value for a bridge.
