Is it just my machine or is the blue, textured area referred to as a cup warmer a complete waste of time? After being switched on for hours, the best mine can achieve is a tepid-tepid area in the top left. It couldn't warm a cup though.
Great bean to cup machine though for the price.
Mine doesn’t have that.
but the rinse it does when you turn it on does a great job of warming your cup up. Just remember to threw it away before you put a coffee in there too.
I think you need to have the eco button turned off as this stops the boiler from staying at 'ready to go' temp, and it's the heat from the boiler that's rises up to warm the cup tray thing. If eco light is on the boiler is off until you make a coffee so there's no heat getting to the warming tray.
It'll still probably be rubbish though
I don't have that model but IME a cup-warmer is really a cup-de-coldener. It just brings the cup up to ~body temperature so it doesn't immediately cool an espresso so much.
Blue textured? Have you got the plastic cover on? Mine is aluminium and on the right (and had a blue protective plastic which should be taken off). Never even realised it was meant for that until recently. I like my coffee not too hot anyway.

Utter waste of time. TBH I'd rather have it that way than having some 'plate' pointlessly heating the environment.
Put it on eco mode to reduce the already feeble heat.

Ahhhhhhhh [thumbsup]
ECO is OFF.
*rushes off to check if the blue is protective film*
EDIT - film removed ahem.
For other users, mine stays on for two hours (not eco mode). Which means every time it turns off it reminds me I need a coffee.....but if you're quick enough to press the on button again it doesn't have to do a the rinse action.

You can extend this to 3+ hours. Mine scares Mrs. S when it performs the auto-off thing. It's quite noisy.
No way! I had no idea what that was and also had left the blue film on thinking it was just the colour!!
3 hours?!? I need to change it up from 2.
yeah, unless it is left on that bit never really warms up much IMO
Mine takes a long time to get hot. I bung the cup in the microwave.

Mines a smaller model, but agree with this, it's never going to "warm" anything beyond not being stone cold from the cupboard in the morning.

Arguably with the continuing rise of solar power, in summer it's going to make less and less difference. And with the phasing out of gas central heating, in winter it's just heating your house with something more useful than an electric bar heater.
Yeh, never gets warm enough, bit crap, otherwise love the machine. I squirt some hot water from the dispenser in to the glass or cup to warm it.
I run mine on eco, so it turns off after 30mins. I swear it's psychic though. I think "ooh, I fancy another coffee" at which point it turns off.

You'd have to put water in the cup for the microwave to warm it? Just do one or two rinses into the cup, if you do two the cup gets pretty warm.
I always turn mine off after making the coffee as I let it rinse into the milk jug or a dirty cup out of the sink, saves emptying the drip tray all the time!
