Is it ok? Got a load of drumsticks for the BBQ today that need defrosting, but my wife is claiming she won't eat chicken that's been defrosted in the micro, which is news to me. Any theories?

difficulty is knowing whether it is properly defrosted or not.

I do it all the time ๐Ÿ˜‰ Figure that so long as you check the chicken is cooked through it will be fine. Just cut through the thick part with a knife and check that it isn't pink still!

To be fair though, it isn't the most sensible of approaches, and salmanella food poisioning is not fun at all from experience, though if you want to shift a few pounds it has stunning results ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you must do it in the microwave, put it on a 30% power setting.

if im in a hurry defrosting for a curry i always boil it on the hob to defrost as its definitely less rubbery than the microwave alternative.
