anyway it'd be a lot more caring and sharing world (I know that sounds crap) if people gave a little bit of thought to the lives of others around them. WE could change things if WE did this everyday, unfortunately we are designed to be a bit selfish. But we should try harder to be more caring to each other.

I grew up listening to a few otherwise decent, thoughtful people justify the actions of paramilitary murderers.
Just a few mind, but it's amazing how these ridiculous ideas can infiltrate the otherwise sane and responsible minds of rational folk.
I'm working with a lad who was raised in an almost diametrically opposed culture at the moment - it's great to see how much common ground we have in our shared revulsion of the idiots on either side. 😀

It's a hard one to deal with for sure, i can sympathise if it winds you up as my blood used to boil (see below) but the best form of retort i've found is not react or bite back but just totally blank/ignore them with an incredulous stare as that seems to annoy them further rather than attempt to converse or change their opinion
My boss at work is not necessary right wing as such, he's just a racist and bigoted pr-i-c-k as he constantly refers to anyone of Asian, African, or anyone not with white pale pasty skin born in the uk in fact as ****'s, Wogs, ****s, chinks, japs etc...etc and they should all f-off back to their own country, he's got a particular hatred of anyone homosexual which as i've got a few gay friends (male & female) along with afghani friends who visit me and my family a couple of times a year so we usually pop into the public side of my workplace and this really gets under his skin, he has to act pleasant and all nicey-nicey but we can see his face getting redder and redder as his blood pressure boils over and my mates act really-really nice and friendly towards him when they're paying for stuff or placing an order, a few times they've touched his hand by accident as they've handed over payment for food or goods....his reaction is priceless, you'd think he'd been stuck with a taser and whilst it causes me no end of hassle and snidey backhanded comments regarding my own sexuality when i'm at work during the week i just find the whole drama incredibly pathetic and thus i can do pretty much what i like as he knows he could never sack me otherwise the shit would really hit the fan. That's not to say i don't work my arse off - i actually work quicker than anyone as i figure the less time i spend there the better, i've got the highest productivity output per hours worked of anyone in the factory and never had an order delayed for shipping due to not getting it done in time but i do work on my own terms & conditions and seeing as i still get paid minimum wage (only worked there for 5 yrs - shrug!) i make my own hours up, i go in when i like and finish when i like so i put up with his behaviour as there is perks to be had like time off when i decide i want it.
I'm not naming what i do as it wouldn't take that much thought to find out where i work or stay from my previous posts on stw.
Ignore them or act really-really nice towards right wing nut-jobs - you'll never convince them otherwise as i believe it is a product of their upbringing and as such it is ingrained into their subconscious from birth and it is an incredible waste of your energy to try otherwise and it can make you very angry and bitter as i found when i started to work for him but i soon learned to use it to my advantage....Right winged bigots will all die out eventually otherwise i really do fear for the human race as a species, or have we reached the tipping point already?.
And yeah.....he's an avid Sun reader in the morning followed by the Daily Mail at lunchtime or afternoon - not that i'm casting aspersions on either of those fine scholarly tomes or their readers, i'd just rather they kept their daily rant to themselves or possibly form their own opinions for a change.

If you are brought up by drug addict parents whether that be alcohol or prescription or so called illegal drugs then you are statistically more likely to turn that way yourself when life throws you a curveball, same for child abusers who are statistically more likely to have been abused themselves, while this does not absolve them of responsibility i feel that we, as a civilised society have to come to terms with this inarguable fact and find some way of dealing with the problem compassionately and without prejudice, unfortunately i doubt this will ever happen as the current consensus seems to be string em up/chemically castrate them/burn them out of their homes etc...etc.
