Went to have a look today. Boot with the two rear seats down is a bit bigger than a Berlingo Multispace.
Nice looking car. Salesman is going to give me a call on Monday when they are allowed to start booking test drives.
I'll also add that you'll never be wheeling a bike into it unless it's a kids one. The roof is a good bit lower than a Berlingo and it doesn't have an entirely flat boot lip. Only had a brief sit in the driver's seat, feels much more car like but then it's car based not van based so makes sense.
I asked if they'd had much interest and the guy said they'd had loads of people asking about it or popping in to have a look.
For me it's the only thing on the market that can replace our Berlingo now that they are EV/£32k only.

It's not massive but I'm looking at it from the perspective of a Berlingo owner which has no boot lip to the extent that things fall out sometimes when you open it.
Also, I'd rather walk than drive a Zafira, or any Vauxhall for that matter.

The new Vauxhall's have no relationship whatsoever to the previous ones (see above). They're now like Skoda/Seat to VW, better value that the stuff they're based on ie Peugeot!
Combo is also now EV only as it's the same van as the Berlingo/Partner.
I've driven a few new Vauxhall's, despite now being based on PSA/Stellantis platforms they are still terrible cars. Example, a 1.2 Corsa with an 8 speed auto gearbox that could never decide what gear to be in.

Noooo. Don't do that. Ford Galaxy or S-Max. Much, much, much better cars than the Zafira. Better made, better thought out, more space, more reliable, better to drive, more comfortable. It's not even close.
My 2008 Galaxy just turned over 150k miles, about to sail through another MOT. Cost £4k in 2018 with 100k on it. Apart from a new timing belt and water pump (which I knew about when I bought it) hasn't missed a beat.
Sister swapped Zafira for S-Max at the same time. Night and day. You'll thank me 😏
That Jogger looks interesting. Hopefully got at least 4 more years out of the Galaxy yet though, so maybe one for the future.

@funkrodent problem is that the Fords are hitting £13K-£22k for a 2013-2016 reg (needs to be petrol not diesel). I could maybe stomach that for a new car but I can get an OK Zafira equivalent for more like £6k. I know Zafiras are dull dull dull but I basically want something I can chuck bikes & tents into, or do tip runs (or both, and then drive to Scotland in). I’ve had two and they’re fine for that, and the main thing I want in my next car is a decent CarPlay set up, which I can do myself.
I’ve owned nice cars and stuffed some of them into the central reservation on the M4. My wife regularly bashes our car on shopping trolleys and picturesque villages in Cornwall. No point buying a nice one!
I buy Apple and Sonos stuff for nice buttons, have a nice office seat and monitor for my day to day interior, and ride bikes and karts for adrenaline.

Fair enough I guess, second hand cars seem to be crazy money right now. There is of course a reason the Fords cost that much more, but as you say horses for courses. After all there's only so many Cornish villages you can bash..

It's me mentioning the Berlingo because I have one. I don't have anything against family cars I just have a pathological hatred of anything with a Vauxhall badge. A company that had made a business producing mediocre cars.

Berlingos seem…ok? But hardly appealing (though the new electric ones are really nice). Try finding a ~7 yr old petrol low mileage non mobility one for less than £10k (or at all actually).
Honestly a 2 series grand tourer holds far more appeal for the sort of money Fords and Citroens are going for, and then I remember all of the vomit, mud, sand and haribo in my car and figure I might as well save £10k and all the stress and cleaning and just get another skip on wheels.

Unlike a microwave you can't just walk away from a car once you start using it, the most hateful cars I've ever driven have been Vauxhalls. You seem to treat your cars as white goods, that's fine, other folk prefer something that's enjoyable to drive (this is not synonymous with "making progress" for the hard of thinking) just as none of us doss about on BSO's.
In fact that's a good analogy, Vauxhalls are the Carrera of the car world. Nothing inherently bad about them (except the ones that spontaneously combust) but nothing good either. The embodiment of beige. Any good Vauxhalls are almost exclusively made by someone else.

Dont get me wrong, I’d like a nicer car (hence this thread). I like nice things, and when I didn’t need a big car I had some lovely cars, and enjoyed them *quite* a lot more than I do now.
But I’m not spending £12-15k on a old dull box when I can get a duller box for probably half that for the same age/mileage/condition. That’s crazy to me. That’s enough for a really nice bike. And it’s not like Galaxy’s and Berlingos are objectively twice as good as a Zafira (COME FOR ME I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL 😝), but it looks there are enough car snobs around to push the price of those up while Zafiras haven’t gone up so much.

Used to comfortably do seating for me, Mrs hoppy and hoppy jr, 2 adult bikes and a kiddy bike with only front wheels out, plus all the kit for a day out biking in ours. The seats come out completely tool free which is really convenient. Only changed it when he went to bigger bikes.
I was surprised how small my nephew's Yeti seemed inside, especially the boot.
We used to have Vauxhalls at work and my overriding memory was they were dull and always a bit worse than the equivalent Ford, which were a similar price. My mate is on his second Insignia estate and they seem decent enough. I'd have one all day long over a Berlingo though, they are one of the most joyless vehicles to drive and travel in. Terrible driving position for me too. Yuk.
Saw one on the road today. In the pictures it looks great. On the road it just looks like what it is - a cheap, huge car. It's proper big.
I quite like the look of this Jogger thing. But then, I am approaching 40 and my days of burning petrol for fun are over.
Our Yeti is tiny in the back. Seats are small and uncomfortable, boot is high but not very deep. It's alright for ferrying a baby and all his junk around but I can't fit the child seat seat behind me if I'm driving.

Well you'd (seriously) think that by now if it's not gone on fire it probably won't, that's fair assessment really.
Still wouldn't bee seen dead in one though (oral stipulations to this effect have already been made), I guess that shows how irrational some folk are.

Seen some reviews for the Jogger-generally favourable, there’s nothing comparable for the price.
The boot opening is the major issue really. Lip at the bottom and even at the sides it looks like a narrower opening than necessary.
Missed opportunity really to make a ULEZ compliant van like car 😢

A 100mm lip at bottom of boot can result in a full built bike not going in.
If it can't do that why not drive a regular estate. No one denies van like mpgs are ****ing ugly .... But if they can take a bike or other bulky items I can live with it not looking or handling like a Ferrari.

It's more the utility aspect or lack thereof. If you're wanting to get big objects in then it stands to reason that you want them to interact with as little of the rest of the car as possible.

Wanted to like it but that split level floor is just no use for us. I'd need something to flatten at least the third row area and something else if I was going for maximum space.
That said you could easily turn it into a storage cubby so all is not lost.

I have, an l800 and an l10. Granted the l10 was on holiday so wasn't driven that much but it didn't seem particularly awful, nor was the l800.
Maybe I just had lower expectations.

Was also internally specced with a heavy dose of the 90s .
But that said it looked and felt like a Mercedes inside compared to a Logan MCV.

It's brilliant being able to slide my bike in, wheels on, from the smooth lip along totally flat floor in current car. It's a small thing, but a properly thought out boot and seat folding flat is the business.

Bit disappointing really, big big car outside but not as massive inside. Very undulating boot floor.
Load length 150cm with rear pair removed and middle row folded forward. 185 if you took middle row out. Was hoping for 2m.
Definitely won’t work for my bike/surfwagon so a van it is.

Not that I am considering one, but most concerning thing he said is that he's managed 21mpg in it!! Now I'm sure he's not been treating it gently, but 21mpg from a 1 litre 3-cylinder turbo. Yikes.
EDIT - Now that's clever! The roof rails can be rotated and used as roof bars! So the middle portion between the anchor points at either end basically comes out & can be used as the roof bar. That is a good idea!
I think 21mpg says more about the journo's driving ability than the cars economy. For the 1.2l 115bhp 4 cylinder Lodgy TCE I used 5.8l/100 for the first couple of years when I kept a check. That's 48 mpg.

I would also much prefer a van but I'm not willing to pay current prices. A 10 year old Vivaro with 130k on the clock is not worth 10 grand and a newish Transit or VW is certainly not worth 3 or 4 times that.
I think the official figures are a better guide to fuel consuption than what one probably biased journalist says. I find they're they're very close for the type of driving I do in pretty much any car. However, if I were being a dick (on a closed road obviouly) I'm sure I could get 21 mpg.
Edit: my T2 camper, a notrious gas guzzler, did better than that. What was he doing? Starting and leaving it running to warm while having breakfast or left foot braking?
That JC journalist found spurious pretences for dissing perfectly good cars when his prejudices do dictated.
Why does the road need to be closed? You can get really bad mpg in lots of very legal ways. I'm sure the size doesn't help either.
Or he could be doing the speed limit consistently on a motorway with no acceleration or speed adjustment at all.
My experiance with small 3 cylinder engines is they promise massive mpg and when you are on the motorway they offer about half - 1/3rd the headline figures.
Even going from 70-60 in a small 3cyl can double your mpg - especially one as aerodynamically challenged as the dacia
