[Closed] Current best value courier for sending a bike in the UK (£750 value)?

I don't have an answer I'm afraid but am interested to know too...

I used parcelforce as I could drop off at the depot as I'm not in to wait for collection.

Up to 20kg and it was £55 including insurance.

Paisleyfrieght is the standard recommendation on here and they would have been slightly cheaper .

Parcelforce for me. I use myhermes large-and-light via parcelmonkey or maybe parcel2go, can't remember, for lower value stuff but Parcelforce's local drop off and good insurance works better for more valuable ones ime

+1 for Paisley freight,  just over. 20quid and no issues the three times I've used them.

Parcelforce should count a bike box as a large parcel and it'll be over 50quid. There are some on here who've sent bikes on the 13quid standard 48hr service, but it's a risk as it may not be delivered or might incurred additional charges - it all depends on if the box/labeling is properly inspected during the delivery.

Paisley Freight have a good website but they are only agents for the big boys like TNT who will actually carry the bike. Having had a bike wrecked by TNT I strongly advise you to tell your buyer to check the carton carefully for damage and not to allow the courier to pressure them into signing. If in any doubt, sign for it in "damaged condition" so that TNT can't wriggle out of your claim. Guess how I know this? Yes, my buyer's wife signed "in good condition" despite there being a fork lift tine hole driven right through the carton. The frame had been wrecked.
