I have a garage - its too small to work in.
I have a large drive way its great to work on - Except over the weekend where i was dodging showers of hail sleet and snow changing the rear axle on the berlingo.
The thought occurs that i should build a double carport in the back garden in front of the garage - as its not uncommon to be working on a vehicle on a weekend - mine or otherwise.
What (clear if possible) material would be suitable for the roof in a windy location ? - my neighbours polycarb/PVC conservatory didnt last very long in the wind.
rough idea on costings? - thinking concreted treated wooden post construction with a slabbing floor - you know the "non perminant" construction about 2.2m tall so i can get the landy in under but not have to get permission.
make a frame with a retractable polythene sheet roof or "repurposed" marquee sides w windows, then just bring out the over when needed/roll away when the storms come?
£20, two of these stiched together.

elastic cord through eyelets down the side, hooked on to cleats along the top rail of the frame. Removeable ridge pole to create pitch to prevent water pooling.
its an option. - and certainly one i considered for the "sides" of my car port .... ie its a carport until i need it to be a garage for what ever project im working on......:)
