By 'pacify' do you mean: invade, kill loads of people, destabilise, then walk away saying 'our work is done' and leave country to implode?

Presumably, as having a forces history is not on the list of 'protected characteristics' as defined by the Equalities Act, then the boss is free to refuse jobs to people as he likes?
