They need to stop using the wide angle lens as the whole place is just empty. It's like the sets got stuck in customs and they're just making do in one corner with the local scout group....

Has anything been deep fried yet?

Seems that every other cliché has been hit already.

Possibly that's what happened to all the sets and actors and they combusted, hence the utterly sparse display we see before us...

Well its keeping the wife quiet in the other room while I cool down with a beer after tonight's very hot & sweaty ride.
So its OK in my opinion 😉

Danny Macaskill made a video in Glasgow for the games. Hope we get to see that.

I've not seen it all, but from the bits I'm catching it seems to be a lot more human than I was expecting.

I'm glad they've not just tried to do a lower budget copy of the Olympics, I like it.

They should have had some big tunes like Manc 2002.
Getting Stevie Redgrave to open it in one of David Byrne's old jackets was a brave move. 🙂

You can help people in Scotland learn basic skills, like singing, dancing and sitting on chairs. Please give whatever you can, this is a historic opportunity to help these people and end their suffering...

Having worked with big screens in the past, I have to pay say, that screen is astonishing. Brilliant in fact.

The rest of it, however?

Did Alec S really say, with any real conviction, that this was going to be better than London 2012? Hahahahahahahaha. Ha.

The ceremony is so much better with the STW online commentary here - can the BBC not set it as a red button special feature?

Actually, the Calvin Harris remix was pretty good for real, but the commentators kept talking over it.
