My eldest son saw it from the car on Tuesday just after sunset, he knows all about it and he's only 6! He has literally been bouncing off the walls since- he's never seen anything like it before.
So let's hope it makes it round the sun today, so far so good it seems.

Thought it was an early morning object, getting closer to the Sun (up to now), and doesn't become an evening object in the northern Hemisphere for a few more days yet (if it survives) ?

Nice bright thing to SW around sunset is Venus (but don't tell him) 🙂
Best, assuming it gets really bright, will be in mornings 06:00 onwards.
Maybe start looking Sunday morning and through the week, in the SE.

It seems my son did see Venus- but I'm not going to tell him. Blissful ignorance.
He thinks he saw a comet and I can't p*** on his parade, it's got him all excited about astronomy and that is awesome!
