top comedian thing on telly.
who is your fave.
jim jefferies
When he was alive - Bill Hicks.
bill hicks.
Currently Rhod Gilbert
Jim Bowen.
Maybe Bernard Manning in second.
Dara o'briain at the moment, going to see him in ipswich next week!
Does Karl Pilkington count as a comedian? Hilarious on the Gervais podcasts.
Favourite standups are Peter Kay, Ricky Gervais (seems that he's either love or hate) and Michael McIntyre. Can't stand the latter for too long due to his voice though!
I like Frankie Boyle's "shock value" jokes as well. Same goes for Jimmy Carr.
Frankie Boyle but at this precise moment in time Eddie Izzard
Jim Bowen.Maybe Bernard Manning in second.
Only into racist comedy?
No-one is really floating my boat at the mo - used to find Frankie Boyle very funny then he got very samey.
Dara was good when I saw him a couple of weeks ago. long set too, no support and did over two hours.
Bill Bailey, Lee Evans, and Eddie Izard for me...
Bill Bailey's a fave at the moment... Except that bird watching show he does, that just makes me cringe.
Only into racist comedy?
ok, Charlie Williams in 3rd then.
😆 flower
Chris Rock - Kill the Messanger - pure gold! Before I saw it I thought he was a prick.
This lad is pretty bloody funny

Bridges
John Bishop.
+1 for Dara.
Peter Kay.
Jim Davidson
Although he's never been as good since he went all PC and dropped Chalky.
He doesn't even do Nick-Nick any more 🙁
some of these suggestions are comical..
Lenny Bruce and Daniel Kitson is way too low imo. Bill Hicks should be right up there and Chris Morris and Peter Cook and Richard Pryor.
It's impossible list really!
harry hill just come on, i wish i had a catapult......
Richard Herring is currently the top live standup at the mo (IMHO). Seen his Hitler Moustache show - pure genius - Bill Hicks would be proud!
Harry Hill is absolute shite!
George Carlin, too low.

Tim Minchin floats my boat at the moment.
+ 1 Tim Minchin
Paul Whitehouse. Genius.
At the mo Frank Skinner.
His stuff really tickles me.
No ones ever had me cry with laughter as much as Billy Connolly I think.
Haha Chris Rock is funny! and Bill Baily, damn, how do u choose!?
Bloody sod yer then!
On tablets for me nerves, sleeping in the Jag etc............ 😀
Stewart Lee's not bad either....
Jerry Sadowitz will be up there - flawed genius!
Don't like many modern comics - Frankie Boyle is the Bernard Manning for the new generation. He's the attention seeking kid from school who used to stand up in class and swear loudly.
That's his entire act. As for Jimmy Carr.........
Mocking people for things they have no control over (gender, sexuality, looks, disablity, race, intelligence) isn't funny. It's what children do.
And no, it's not post modern or ironic - it just legitimises crass stupidity.
Fart jokes on the other hand....
who do you like RSpanner?
Bill Hicks. The being pulled over by the cops while on LSD scene literally had me choking.
Jasper carrot was good too.
you know what RS...?
I actually wouldn't put frankie boyle into the 'mocking affliction' category of comedian.. I haven't actually ever noticed him to use that kind of cheap humour..
that's deffo down to some of the other relics that are listed here..
I think his mildly repulsive and vividly descriptive wit is his strength..
+1 for Frankie Boyle
Kevevs,
At the moment:
Bill Bailey, Milton Jones, Stewart Lee, Tim Minchin, Armstrong & Miller, Mitchell & Webb, Mark Steel, Shazia Mirza, Stewart Francis, Jeremy Hardy, Lucy Porter, Sarah Millican, Reginald D Hunter, Chris Morris, Tim Vine, just off the top of my head.
Anyone with a bit of intelligence who doesn't feel the need to mock someone because of what they are, as opposed to what they choose to do or believe.
Saw Mike Reid live once, I have never laughed so loud for so long, fantastic.
Anyone with a bit of intelligence who doesn't feel the need to mock someone because of what they are, as opposed to what they choose to do or believe.
I'm not 100% sure that one is any more or less legitimate than the other..
yunki,
I just think that laughing at someone because of their looks, shape, disability, colour, race, gender etc is really lazy humour.
It's just a manifestation of fear and ignorance, a way of excluding those who are different or don't conform to the narrow definition of what the observer believes to be the norm.
It panders to the basest and most unlikeable traits of humanity.
BTW, it has nothing to do with the fact that I am short, fat AND ugly. 🙂
