... and a population roughly the same as Bristol
that's pushing the definition of roughly.

Dull and pedestrian as normal. Agree with others that international football is not a patch on champions league. What has well beck done for club and country to be the default England striker......?

Watching us play Germany in the last World Cup, in a bar full of Germans, was the final straw for me. We play tedious uninspiring football rooted in the 1970's. It's dire! And the woeful standards on the pitch represent the frankly bloody awful state of the game in this country. We've got the team the FA deserve

Watch them grind out some dull, laboured uninspired draw against a supposedly second rate nation? I'd rather remove my own kidneys with a teaspoon!

Mike Oldfield Tubular bells on BBC4 at 9pm until 10.25.

Get some culture and forget the over paid numpties who aren't proud to pull on an England shirt

... and a population roughly the same as Bristol
that's even worse.

City of Bristol 420k
Bristol urban area 1M
Montenegro 620k

It closest to the population of the Bristol urban area not be including the actual city.

Probably not much, given that he's playing on the left wing...

top, top international striker Niklas bendtner just put denmark 2-1 up against italy. He truly is one of the greats of our time.

Ukraine have won.

It's a WC qualifier FFS! If you can't get yourself in front of the telly for this then you're obviously not a footie fan.

It's frustrating so far but I reckon Wellbeck will get us the points in the second half.

C'mon England!!!!

Or, they could make it topical: 620,000 white people have left London in the past decade.

(also mentions that's the size of Glasgow, maybe we could use that instead?)

Watching without much enthusiasm here. That new chap looks quite capable though.

England to win 2-1

Impressed with Townsend playing the game not the occasion, good performance from him so far. Walker looks a liability in defence though. Wellbeck not combining well with Baines yet. Thought Rooney would put his chance away, no really clear cut chances other than that mind.

As someone (possibly on here) put it, supporting England at football is like being the over-optimistic parent of the fat kid on school sports day...

Either that Montenegran coach has zero neck or he's wearing his dad's coat.

Would be a typically dominant England performance to win after scoring one of the three goals 🙂

I agree with A. Townsend Sr - kicking a ball with his weak foot is the bravest act a man may perform. Truly heroic.

Bell-end commentator aside - good goal!

Great performance from Townsend and I'm a Gooner

Well done to Woy for picking a winning team, now let's finish the job and put Poland to the sword.

That would be a stupid thing to say but he didn't actually say that, though. Cracking goal. Good performance

My low boredom threshold kicked in at half time. Never mind, saw a terrific documentary about Mike Oldfield. Sounds like the second half was more interesting though.
