First off, apologies for multi-posting today. Wouldn't normally do it, but some questions are so durned urgent they require immediate attention.
Opposite my workplace is a Jobwise agency.
The sign on the door says 'PULL'.
A printed page of A4 has been blu-tacked on the glass next to the sign. It says 'Please PUSH the door'. The word 'PUSH', if it helps, is printed in red ink.
So, is this an innocent case of bad door fitting or a cunning extra test to sift out the drones (those who get to the door, look confused, dawdle, look uncomfortable and finally sidle away, drooling) from those who take the initiative (either pulling or pushing) and those who bypass the issue by riding their bike straight through the glass and confidently proclaiming: Hi, I'm ready to be employed?
Only reason I'm asking is this: one of the jobs advertised is for a clear door signage technician. The pay's not great, but you get to take away as many door signs as you want and I've always wanted one of those semi-humorous signs to bling the door of the 16 household.
Advice is appreciated.
It's alright, guys, I found the answer on Wikipedia.
Exactly.
๐ ๐ oh dammit I'm doing it again. My bad. ๐ฏ
I've often wondered why doors you PUSH open have handles.
See handle. Think 'PULL'.
It's so you can close them again.
But yes, I've had a similar line of thought for years.
Love that Far Side cartoon!
Update:
Much to my displeasure, I've heard via the Jobwise grapevine that the clear door signage technician vacancy is now closed. Apparently, it's between Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robby Krieger. Interviews to follow.
Rumour is Krieger's a shoe in to get it.
Will keep you posted.
I'm not sure what you're up to camo, but I think I like it
What I'm up to? What, me?
What I'm up to?
Whatever it is, ourkidsam likes it.
