LOL! I find him a bit annoying sometimes, but this is great. He's not trying so hard, he's just totally exasperated! I like him more now..
Why isnt Kermode getting the Film 2010 (etc) gig? Is whatsehername a film buff then?
He didn't want it apparently. Though not actually sure he was formally offered it. I think they went for presenter over critic with wotsername.
Film 2010 (++1 etc) needs a sycophant as the host - Kermode does not fit that profile.
He talked at length about why he didn't want the job, and implied that he would not be offered it for the same reasons. His phrase was that he did not have "commercial sensibilities".
The most annoying thing about the Mayo-Kermode double act on Friday is that it brings into stark contrast what a tw&t Richard Bacon is.
