We looked at one when buying a new car last month, nice but too small for us. If size hadn't been an issue I'd certainly have considered getting one.

I think size might be an issue - although it's got very similar space to a golf, which I was also considering, and didn't regard as too small, so maybe it's perception. It felt quite narrow, but then I'm not sure why that would matter.

I think the bubble wrap will be less jarring with darker colours longer term. Maybe grays and blacks.

The Rancho was 2WD and had a 1.4L 80bhp engine so was definitely more Berlingo than Range Rover. In fact, I think it was derived from an old Simca pickup.

False alarm. Mrs Bol just had a look at the brochure. 2 seconds and "ew, I don't like that stuff on the side". I'll cross that one off the list then.

Reminds me a bit of this, saw loads in California and wanted one, AFIK only special imports here.

I laughed when I opened the first pic - reminded me of a cartoon character, can't think which one. Something like

How sad - Toyota milking the iconic J40 in a tragic retro

Just Google searched as hasn't heard of the cactus and I think 😯 sums it up but not in a bad way necessarily.

Having said that I may pop down to the local dealer to have a look out of curiosity!

It was sniff petrol that piqued my interest.

I saw this picture of it first 😆

I live by a Citroen dealer I've seen a couple. I think they look tacky and childish, I expect they are bought by people who feel the need to try and be different and don't really care about driving. That plasticky stuff on the sides looks cheap and I don't think time will be very kind to it. I'm sure there are some well thought out features and as a vehicle it's has it's merits for those with families etc.

Its a bit ovestyled for my taste but i do like their approach to weight reduction, lightweight cars are the future.

Take the "airbumps" off & it's just another dodgy Citroen that'll have questionable electrics & dull paint in 6 months time

I like it, I'm not normally a fan of the pseudo 4x4 thing, but this works for me. I do seem to be liking a lot of quirky cars these days, almost anti status symbol, panda/yeti/berlingo types, coincidentally my wife is horrified by this.

Those wheels on most models look like giant locking wheel nut sockets.

I first became aware of this vehicle last week when an advert came on the TV when I was at my Mates.

My reaction was erm OK its another weird Citreon, my Mate said " WTF, it's got a Dairy Milk bar stuck on the Doors " 😀

Whatever you think of it it does generate a lot of opinion. So that's good for Citroën.

As I said, anythings gotta be better then yet another dreary grey VWSkoBMAudi. I'd get the yellow one just to piss people off. 🙂

saw loads in France earlier in the year and loved them.

I've yet to see one except on TV. I like them, a lot even, but wouldn't buy one, or would I? Maybe if they do a bigger version.

Jeez - and I got slated for considering a brown T5, a yellow Transit and settling on a pick-up with a weird looking canopy.

The Citroen looks awful - I like the interior though

I wanted a Rancho! Had to do with a matchbox one with yellow windows!
Ditto, I imagined myself driving round the dusty Californian mountains in it, having adventures like Knight Rider or something.

I wonder if that's what Quashqai owners expect to get too?

Same thoughts, same toy. Still like it - somehow I don't find it naff in the way I do modern faux by 4's. A modem version would make a great bike car.

The cactus looks ridiculous by the way. Interiors interesting though.

Had a spin in one on Friday whilst the Dispatch was having it's MOT.

Nice enough - quite nippy. Bit tram-liny on cambered country lanes. Not so sure about the non wind-down rear windows or lack of split rear seat. C3 Picasso still has much more interior and boot space in a cleverer, more flexible, smaller (externally) and cheaper package. I've generally found the actual price you pay for Citroens is 20%-25% below list (not sure if the fashionable stuff like DS / Cactus etc is different).

Yellow is the only no-cost Cactus colour.........

So did you get one OP?

I only ask 'cos I rode past one the other day and it's quite a unique looking beast.

Looks like an aubergine!

I've been told by my wife that she thinks it looks stupid, so no, it's off my list. Glad to hear other people are going for it. I saw one on the road in Spain last week in white with brown bits. Looked cool.
