Its a shock this. A Tory or Labour MP, lying cheating is normal but a Liberal.

Indeed.

(sorry it was impossible to resist)

Im betting that the whole hoo haa about reporting restrictions around pre hearing discussions will be related to some kind of evidence suppression (say, texts from son) ostensibly on privacy grounds but mainly to undermine the CPS case and get away with it (those damn kids!)

Hopefully at sentencing there will be a lifting of restrictions and more can come out.

[cynical] I am assuming he took the court case to the brink in order to preserve some perk of the job. The majority of a parliamentary term or some other mathematical notion that ensures the pension remains intact. [/cynical]

More a case that he tried everything to get off whilst knowing that he was as guilty as sin. He misses out on a discounted sentence for an early guilty plea, but has obviously remained an MP for many months and is still getting a nice pay/expenses/pension packet.

Whilst I can't condone those terribly naughty people 😯 who have hoped that he has to play Mummies and Daddies whilst behind bars , I do hope that he gets punched in the cock once for every pound of taxpayers money he has wasted by dragging out the whole process.

All his lying really is pathetic. Claiming innocence while knowing he is guilty.... never get that in professional sport...... oh wait.... 😯

Reminds me a lot of the case in Australia of the respected Judge and the speeding ticket. See Link above.

Archer got two years for fabricating an alibi. Mind you he plead not guilty.
I guess the guilty plea is Huhne's attempt to avoid getting up close and personal with Bubba*

* this has not been vetted/approved by Zokes.

It's a special LibDem planet where they all still think they have a political career left come 8th May 2015

I know someone with no previous and of good moral and professional standing, who still served a prison sentence for exactly the same crime. She had too many points and tried to get her son to take them for her. Don't see why it shouldn't be any different for Huhne.

He comes out of that exchange really well. 😯

Not at all confirming our suspicion that all politicians are slimy, sociopathic narcissists

Blinkin flip she';s a serial criminal!! 😯

In 2003, Harman was fined £400 and banned from driving for seven days after being convicted of driving at 99 mph (159 km/h) on a motorway, 29 mph (47 km/h) above the speed limit.[79]

In 2007, Harman was issued with a £60 fixed penalty notice and given three penalty points on her licence for driving at 50 mph (80 km/h) in a temporary 40 mph (64 km/h) zone. Harman paid the fine several months late and avoided appearing at Ipswich magistrates court.[76] Harman was again caught breaking the speed limit the following April, this time in a 30 mph zone, receiving a further 3 points on her driving licence.[80]

In January 2010, Harman pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention in relation to an incident on 3 July where she struck another vehicle whilst driving using a mobile phone, she admitted the offence in court becoming the first serving Cabinet minister in memory to plead guilty to a criminal offence.[81][82] Harman was fined £350, ordered to pay £70 costs, a £15 victim surcharge and had three points added to her licence.[83] Road safety organisations such as Brake condemned the leniency of the punishment and decision to drop the charge of driving whilst using a mobile phone.[84] The judge defended the decision stating "Ms Harman’s guilty plea to driving without due care and attention included her admitting that she had been using a mobile phone at the time".[85]

Just to prove it's not only Lib Dem politicians who are liars:

Labour MP Simon Danczuk, who first asked Essex Police to re-investigate the case, said: "None of us are above the law, including ministers, but I do have some sympathy for Chris Huhne in that I wouldn't have wished his political career to be ruined in this way."

Changes his mind.

And not for the first time.

Chris Huhne before the general election, May 2007 :

"Nuclear power is a tried, tested and failed technology, which is clearly a costly blind alley"

Chris Huhne after the general election and having secured the job he wanted as cabinet minister for energy and climate change, August 2010 :

"We are on course to make sure that the first new nuclear power station opens on time in 2018"

The Liberal Democrats............less trustworthy than the Tories

Tell us Mr Danczuk, in what way would you have liked to ruin his political career?

Skipping over the pages of Chris Huhne rape fantasies that some people here entertain, do anyone notice that his registration number was H11 HNE? What a bellend.

Huhne, a man with an ego the size of Greenland, and a moral compass with a missing needle. I've read those messages, I'll bet he'll still be sending his son Christmas cards, and wondering why he gets nothing in return.
I wonder what 'extra' ingredients his meals will have while he's slammed up.
Cock.
