Child minders, todler group, pre school, nursery = aaaaagh

Our daughter will be 12 months old - we need 2-3 days of her being looked after. What sort of costs are involved, how do you find somewhere decent?

Tideswell area preferred

Ofsted reports, and personal reccomendations get a short list and go and visit them, pick the one that seems best.
Costs vary from place to place.

nursery is £34 per day here (Covers from 7.30am to 18:00)...
down to £32 at age 2
We pay using child care vouchers through employer so comes out of gross pay which helps.

visit a couple of nurseries...talk to the staff...go back again...talk to other parents (but beware some parents are never going to be happy as they want to stay at home so use your own judgment)

I wouldn't put much value in an Ofsted report...although if there was any major negatives I'd be looking and questioning on those issues when I visit

Chuckling at your last comment Rob...indeed ofsted reports mean bobbins in real terms.
We had a child-minder(recommendation from our local midwife) for the first 3 yrs and then a Nursery. Childminder was like home from home...which is what we wanted.
Only one Nursery in the area so no choice really.
