Once, years ago, riding my first ever mountain bike, I stopped for a breather, and I could hear a loud high-pitched cheeping noise. I saw a wren perched nearby, then heard a noise like a giant bumblebee behind me. I looked around and saw a baby wren perched on the top of my back tyre. Amazing little bird, absolutely tiny, like a feathery bumblebee. Sadly I had no camera twenty-odd years ago, but the image stays with me.
