[Closed] Cheapest way to transfer money to UK?

I need to transfer a couple of grand to the UK from Canada and am wondering the cheapest and/or easiest way to do it. I guess dedicated foreign transfer companies are going to be the cheapest, but for such a (relatively) small sum, is the difference likely to be that noticeable?
Any other thoughts?

Normal IBAN bank transfer I find (moving from Euro to GBP)...

xe.com or its competitors. Yes, the difference can be enough to make the effort! It's also a bit quicker and more reliable than high street bank monkeys imvho.
