bacon is only satisfying when place between 2 slices of buttered cheap white bread, as are sausage or chips.

Is it slightly concerning that the demographic on the Chub Club thread are also the ones with the best ideas on here?

and in which case, the decreasing order of satisfaction would be

Chips
Sausage

I think the chicken wings are a good call in the "bang for the buck" stakes. Also a heap of scrambled eggs on Warburton's crumpets.

Of course there's always bacon!

Scrambled eggs are alright I suppose, if you like eating warm sick.

Buttered toast is way up there. Per unit is very cheap, a few pence.

Wild-growing damsons are free. That green-gold sweet juicy pulp explodes in your mouth, with the purple skin giving sharp, bitter finish. Sounds wrong

Chestnuts. Chestnuts with salt is top food. Free in the woods.

No takers for chanterelle, light fried? Or those big field mushrooms? Hang on, does free even count as cheap?

Homemade pizza is very cheap if you already have the yeast, flour and oil. Very big hit.

Tinned tomatoes mixed with tinned (drained) pineapples. Cheap & bloody tasty.

But the Tesco biscuit barrel pack is up there...5 packs of biscuits for a £1. 😀

**Throws up a little**

Crisps are quite cheap, if you break it down to the price per crisp cost.

Other people's chips taste the best and they cost nowt

Other people's chips - what a phenomenon.

My house as a student was across the road from a few fairly rubbish takeaways that only seems to survive by still being open when everywhere else had shut. At the end of any party we'd always have loads of trays of half-eaten chips scattered around the house. There would be a chain reaction - someone would buy chips - others would taste / smell them - be overcome by the phenomenon of 'other people's chips' and be motivated to go across the road and buy their own... repeat to fade.

What they all learned was their own chips weren't nearly as nice as 'other people's chips' so nobody finished them.

if you have one of these or similar (ok an expense up front but hey how much did you spend on your oven in the house?) you can knock out awesome pizzas for about 10p each. i'm up in the hundreds now. love it. even conventional oven pizzas are awesome and never fail

Why didn't they all just swap chip trays, so everyone ate someone elses?
