Want a cheap dab radio to stick in my garage and connect to my amp - save me taking the pure out the kitchen when i want Team rock in the garage.
i do not want to use my phone - partly because i dont want to and partly because the teamrock radio app is shit
it will only ever need to tune into one station so ease of use not a big issue. We get good signal due to our location - dont even need a small aerial on the house stereo to get DAB signal.

I use this in the landrover connected to a small 500W chinese amp. Works fine. Surprisingly good reception.
hmmmm that looks good that does - might put one in the van at that price..... much cheaper than a pure highway (about 150 quid cheaper)
I have it connected to a USB charge port, and charge it when Im not in the landy as there is a lot of interference form my power supply (un screened from the alternator). The battery lasts ages though.
Some velcro tape on the bottom of the radio and on the top of the binnacle and I have DAB radio in an agricultural vehicle 🙂
The radio is the size of half a bounty bar/or large ciggie lighter.
The only thing I'd say about that Bish one is that the power switch is a bag of arse, I've had three of them break, the third one I've managed to get working again but it's still a bit flakey. It seems to be the housing rather than the switch itself.
Aldi do one every now and again for about £17.
I've got a cheap as chips Tesco Technika radio I use all the time. Mains for in the workshop and rechargeable AA batteries for use on site or in the car. It works surprisingly well in the car too. All the way from South Wales to Leeds without a hiccup. Except in tunnels.
Ironically the house we've just moved into has a reception blackspot in the kitchen, so Craig Charles on a Saturday night is no more for us till I find a fix.
I have a Sansui DB-100 that was very cheap, but the reception is pretty rubbish. It'll just about pick up TeamRock in the garage whereas the Pure mini that normally lives in the kitchen has no trouble at all. The Sansui won't pick up anything at all at work.
Also - TeamRock. J'approve 8)
yeah i used to switch between planet rock and absolute rock but they seem to play the same music on rotation day in day out and their chat is terrible - with the exception of planet rock sunday nights.
team rock just seem to have a play list of a half million songs. rarely hear a repeat and the variation in rock tastes is just brilliant. one minute screaming metal - the next country rock.

probably pick one of them up for the garage - saves me having to buy a USB plug and long lead and its cheaper.
but ill seriously consider getting a bush portable for the van 😀

If you want something for the van these are very good and have a rugged feeling rubersied finish. They seem to have gone up recently as they were £30.

that looks quite bulky for the van no ?
the bush one looked good as i could use velcro to fix it to the dash and feed the wires through an empty switch hole making for a tidy install.....i hate wires.
I thought you meant as work van lunch time listening. Ignore
got that stereo - had it on in the garage all weekend.
Good tackle easy to use , fairly intuitive - will see how long it lasts.
for 15 quid im not expecting it to last forever.
and then just take it in the van with an Aux/phono lead and you have Lauren Laverne wherever you want her. More or less.
Bit late now, and not as cheap as the one you got, but I'm going to have my say anyway 😉
I got one of these from Argos a few months back for the garage.

So far so good, decent reception and sound isn't bad for the size. Does have an headphone output and I have a spare midi system in the house that might end up in the garage, but not ncessary unless I really must hear it over the grinder. Mains power and AA's for when needed.
just an update...
the white stereo has been great - does the job in the garage.
it also traveled in the motor down to lockerbie on saturday hooked up via a tape adaptor - i lost signal at tullybardine for a bit and again about drumlanrig - but given we drove to no where(boreland) and then up into the hills on a dirt track , im not surprised we lost it.
its also made its way into the office with me - this may result in my next Iphone being much smaller as i prefer the DAB radio to just songs 😀
I reckon for my next experiment ill stick one of them bush jobs that stoner has in his landy into my vans - ive spyed up a great un intrusive hardwiring set up and someplace to stick it.
Craig Charles on a Saturday night is no more for us till I find a fix.
Podcast for me on Sunday morning
