Fish is expensive but the chippy down the road from work does sausage, chips, mushy peas and a can of pop for £2.95, which is a bargin.

My local chippy does fish and chips for about £3 a go, bloody good it is too!

..and watching these chaps at play is free (although tide tables and a decent pair of bins help). Or a £10 boat trip, and they sometimes come and play with the boat.

Pretty much every museum in Paris, the first Sunday of each month entry is free. Also under a euro for delicious bread. Almost makes up for the ridiculous beer prices. Almost.

British Museum, V&A museum, Science Museum, Tate, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool, Royal Academy, Natural History Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Imperial War Museum, City Art Gallery Manchester, Kelvingrove Gallery Glasgow, Laing Gallery Newcastle, The Baltic Gallery Newcastle. I've visited them all, and never paid a penny for entrance. I'd say that's good value.

I think the internet in general counts.

Yeah, but the grumble specifically is a big improvement on a soggy copy of Razzle you found in a hedge, and therefore worth a special mention 😆

Cod and chips at my old local chippy was £3.50 for a big bit of cod and more chips than I could eat without straying into self harm territory. And the chips were actually good chips.

Thus filling the holy triumvirate of "cheap", "good", and "plentiful".

I've never found as good a chip shop anywhere else.

I'm almost certain it was actually a mafia money laundering outfit.

Sainsburys Basics microwave meals, specifically the lasagne and the bolognese pasta bake. 75p each, British beef and genuinely no crap. Awesome.

The first beer of the evening, slipping over your tongue and down your throat. (it's the later ones that are expensive).

Feeling a lady's boob. (Actually, feeling a lass's boob - even better if she's not a lady )

Tomatoes, even really good ones are just a couple of quid for half a dozen and probably the best food ever. Bananas, tasty loads of energy they come half way round the world and still cost les than a pound for a bunch.
