[#10319976]

I'm currently looking for some aftermarket bike lights that won't break the bank. I know you can get lots of different ones on ebay ranging from 2000 to 10000 lms and all within the £40 price bracket but not really sure what to go for. I have asked to the guys in my local club but they all have spent lots of money on light/kit, something that i'm not really prepare to do  as I'm not really sure I'll use it enough to justify the expense. I would like one to put on the helmet and the other one on the handlebars as i believe that is the standard set up for night time riding. Any suggestions on what i should go for? All help and advice would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Matt

solarstorm x2 etc way less than £40 quid

work really well, battery pack connections can be fradgile, so make sure they are well secured (I use some extra velcro tape stuck under my toptube)

can even get usb ones, if anyone can recomend a usb battery pack,

I replaced my solar storm x2 with one of these..

About the same brightness but no wire and dodgy battery to worry about. I'm happy with it.

Nitenumen X8 or whatever the current iteration is, there are various names it is sold as. I paid about £35 for mine, really super bright - certainly as bright as you could ever want, wide and uniform beam pattern, battery lasts for absolute ages even on brightest setting and it's internal so no cables to worry about, and importantly the handlebar clamp is bang on.

Buy 3 of the dual Cree light sets from Aldi. £15 each. Stick 2on the bars and 1on your lid. I am pretty impressed with the 1 I bought just as a backup. You will also have 3rear lights as a bonus
