spent a very drunken night in London with that bloke whats now married to Billie Piper and various other members of his family who all seem to be actors once. Met the Hamiltons, she is a nice enough toff, he really has nothing between the ears, have met quite a few ex Eastenders types. Oh and David Owen told the mrs off for drinking too much of his champagne once!!
Went to Jimmy Tarbuks jnr's wedding so obviously there was a whole host of celebs, Cilla, Forsyth, the little Ronnie guy, Alan Hansen etc, etc but the saddest moment was seeing Ian St. John absolutely leathered and trying to start a fight! Great day though. Liza Tarbuck's my ex's best mate and my daughter's Godmother, hence the invite.
Saw Roger Moore in the bogs at Nice airport. Didn't think it was a good place to offer a hand or start talking so I left him to it. (He's a big lad).
Used to babysit for Ryan Giggs and his brother.
See most of the corrie cast at Sainsbury's Regent Rd. Dierdre Barlow sounds like Satan. Awful voice.
Met and got the autographs from Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal from Tears for Fears.
There's a guy at our place who reckons he nailed Ja Rule's girlfriend. So obscure it's almost believable.
Oh - I suppose my winning entry is the fact that I went to a party at Rolf Harris' house - met him and his wife. Really nice people.
I doubt they call him 'big dick'
He's a big lad
Do some of you actually look at other men's knobs whilst having a piss? 😯
Me and wor lass went travelling for a year back in 99/00.
Met Ewan MacGregor at Sydney Zoo, Coolio, and wor lass stopped ex-president Jimmy Carter from pushing into a ski-lift queue while working in Colorado...until his bodyguards stepped in and said that the Pres had right of way and didn't have to queue...
when at university played footie with Robbie Williams - he was just stating out in Take That and living in Stoke.
Sister when living in los angeles went on a date with George Michael - waste of time that one.
But best of all had a pool game against spider stacey of the pogues.
Do some of you actually look at other men's knobs whilst having a piss?
Only if it is famous or has been in someone famous. If Billy Zane got his out I would probably burst into a round of applause.
Only if it is famous or has been in someone famous.
Indeed.
Brad Pitt's would get a platimun valet.
Possibly too numerous to mention or remember.
Alberto Contador nice guy.
Paco Mancebo several times and nice guy.
Matthew Pinsent nice guy.
Garry Christian (The Christians) asked the way to the toilets one night in a club in Liverpool.
Stuart Hall at Oulton Park ****a.

Bobby Shinton the last three all lived around the corner from me.
Beatriz Luengo was signing a contract in a meeting room I was supposed to use and I lent her the pen to sign the contract. 😆
Worked for a while at a TV station, so that doesn't really count.
Probably a better question is to ask which celebs have bumped into or met me! 😆
JK has a holiday house 3 miles from my folks, said hello once or twice in the local + at a mates wedding. Not quite as diminutive as everyone makes out; seems perpetually sunburnt & wasted
Dirty bastards. Must be a 'Northern' thing.
(Cancels trip to Bradford)
Eric Cantona at Le Saint Geran, mauritius, i thought he was going to give me a slap as my wife was pointing at him,
Dale winton sitting next to us and being hassled by grannies in a coffee shop in holetown ,barbados, seemed to be a very nice chap.
Dominic diamond (don't laugh) sat next to us in Angry Annies, holetown, barbados
Ant and Dec (appeared on 'friends like these' with them in 2000) ant lovely bloke, the other one grumpy
I was thinking I haven't met anyone famous, then I remembered these:
Kylie
Jason
Sonia
London Boys
Big Fun
Bumped into Mark Webber, he was in a rush and apologised
Englad Rugby Team 1991 - I played the opening match for grand slam
Tim Henman - Tennis lesson (school)
JLC - Walking through Bristol late at night
I think there's a few more, but I cannot remember.
Met Robert Rankin (author of 'far fetched fiction') a couple of times at signings and suchlike. Complete stone bonker and consumate teller of tall tales. Insists you do the 'bunny ears' if you ask him for a photo. (-: At a book signing in Manchester when there was about a dozen people left, went "right, I'm off to the pub, who's coming?" and we all duly went to the pub for an hour or two with Robert Rankin...!
Met Terry Pratchett at a book signing, quiet but seemed nice enough, though the whole thing was very brief and rushed as about half the western world had turned up.
Met Carol Decker a handful of times after gigs. Very quick to sign stuff and chat with fans for a while, pose for photos and stuff.
Met Gun (the band) last year along with their singer at the time, Toby Jepson, who's far smaller than I expected. Top blokes all round.
Met Terrorvision just as they were starting to get properly well known, had a lengthy chat to the rest of the band who were being pointedly ignored whilst an army of girls were throwing themselves at the lead singer. Top lads also.
Went to the UK premiere of the movie Serenity and had a brief chat with Joss Whedon, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin, Gina Torres, Sean Maher, all of who were lovely, though JW stole my Sharpie - I've not forgotten, Whedon, you owe me! Adam Baldwin was also in attendance but didn't seem really interested in the whole meet-and-greet thing. I have a very well-signed Firefly box set as a result though.
In a curryhouse in Glasgow (IIRC), Bill Bailey was on the next table over from me. I didn't speak to him, I wouldn't have felt comfortable interrupting his dinner.
Walking through Edinburgh, passed a café where Jerry Sadowitz (magician and notoriously 'alternative' comedian) was sat at a table outside. Plucked up the courage to ask for a quick photo which he gracefully accepted, I think he was quite surprised at being recognised.
Bumped into Shaun Ryder propping up the bar in a pub in Wigan. As it was a tossup as to who was the most bladdered of us at this point, I stumbled over and politely told him that I thought he was a nob. He agreed with me.
As a small boy, met Dennis Taylor a few times by merit of my grandad being his gardener. Very friendly from what I remember.
As an even smaller boy, got dragged up on stage during a panto by Bill Owen (Compo) to make animal noises to a renditition of Old MacDonald...!
Went to the SFX Weekender last year and got to chat to a few people briefly, which is kinda cheating but:
Tom Baker. Delightfully bonkers and was offering round jelly bablies.
James Masters (Spike off Buffy, was Captain John in Torchwood I believe). Nicer than he'd any right to be, totally down to earth and spoke to everyone like they were the first people he'd met that day. Thoroughly decent bloke, A+++ would shmooze again.
Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto out of Torchwood). Again seemed down to earth and friendly, though seemed a bit shy, looked like he was daunted by the idea that anyone would want to talk to him.
Michelle Forbes (from True Blood and a batch of stuff, wasn't till about half an hour after I'd met her that the penny dropped that she was also Ro Laren in Star Trek). Another that seemed overwhelmed and a bit confused by all these weird British people, also the only one to have her own bodyguards though she didn't seem particularly keen that they were there.
Mac McDonald (Captain Hollister out of Red Dwarf). Dumped next to James Marsters and therefore ignored by everyone, seemed unsurprised by this.
Possibly others, that's all I can think of for now. I'm not a stalker, honest! Just been to a couple of events really.
Had a bit of a scrap with Jeremy Beadle in Stringfellows, does that count? My mate had a rich GF who held a 21st birthday party in Stringfellows. Said GF thought it was funny to pinch JB a**e whilst I was standing behind him. After a few go's of this, he turns round furiously, thinking it was me, and starts a bit of a-pushing and a-shoving. I left building rather bemused....Actually a really nice bloke and very smart...
Once got the eye from Moira Stewart as well.....
Oh - met Norman Lovett in the wake of a female friend who clocked him and ran over shouting "it's Holly, I love you!!" He seemed somewhat embarassed, perhaps unsurprisingly in hindsight.
Lenny Henry - While working in a kitchen. He was funny
Lesley Joseph - was working in casino - Bit of a biatch cos I was taking money of her
Melinda Messenger - Casino again. More intelligent than I expected
The tall gormless looking guy from watching (Paul something or other). again casino serving drinks this time he gave me a £30 tip though for a free drink and some 50p sandwiches
Robbie Williams - Casino - Threw him out for stripping on a table
Band members from Suede - Backstage passes are brilliant. Met Brett Anderson again at Madrid airport and had a good chat with him
Pulp at a record signing in Tower records
The bird who played Debbie in hollyoaks sat next to me on a plane back from Madrid to Manchester

Met Tom O Connor on hols. A complete gent.
I've spoken to Timmy Mallett, does that count?
He bought a computer from the company I worked in tech support for at the Time. He sounded exactly the same as he did on TV, it's not an act.
Is Timmy Mallett STW's most-met celeb? What do other readers think?
I've spoken to Timmy Mallett, does that count?
Speaking to counts? Oh thats not gonna be fair cos I worked in UHVC for Vodafone so all the famous people used to come through like posh and becks, John "Singlepoint" Caudwell, Most premiership footballers too
+1 on timmy mallet too, hit me on the head with his mallet at an MoD summer camp type thing
i must be young.... i dont recognise about 90% of the names mentioned
I was once Beryl Burton's "minuteman" in a 25 mile TT. She had a nice chat before the start. I didn't catch her though.
Served George Michael (a bit moody) and Zoe Ball (lovely) during my student days working at Our Price in Hampstead.
Saw Gilberto Silva when he first joined Arsenal at an Italian restaurant in North London. Don't think his English was all that at the time but he was left alone until he was about to leave. Only then did a kid have a picture taken with him and some others shook his hand and wished him luck for the season. Don't think he understood a word of it. Nice that people respected his privacy though.
My son spent a year living in Oz and sent me pic of him with Lance Armstrong, whom he had just served at the restaurant he was working in. (The Bather's Pavilion in Sydney). Said he was very nice and a good tipper. We went out to visit him last year, and while we were in the Bather's, my daughter got all excited because the guy on the next table was Kanye West (it's a very expensive restaurant). I had never heard of him, but he seemed OK, despite trying to chat up my daughter.
A few years ago in Capetown, I met Steve Redgrave and his family (a top guy) in the big aquarium place, and then 10 minutes later met Gareth Edwards in Cape Union Mart. Another friendly bloke.
I met Barry Hoban many times when I helped out in a local bike shop. He was a rep. at the time for some bike firm. He is great and happy to tell TDF stories.
Best of all was meeting and speaking to Eddy Merckx at Eastway in 1978 after the Glenryk cup race. As a 16 year old, that was unbelievable. A bit like meeting God.
When i lived in Aussie (long time ago) worked in a hotel and cooked for Lee Marvin & them 2 scottish brothers (500 miles) who were on tour.
Whoopie goldberg was opening the "Oz Rock" cafe in kings cross and saw her walking down the street flanked by 2 huge "security" guys. said "Aright Whoopee" in my broad west yorks accent. got very funny look
Ellie Harrison - the ecologist/travel presenter lady was in wotk lunchtime, with her little baby.
Turns out she is married/partner to one of my colleagues.
Lovely friendly lady - really cute baby
Philip Schofield tried to force his way into a parking space ahead of me, when he shouted out the immortal line "do you know who I am" I jumped out of my car to give him a slapping, he quickly drove off making hand signals not unlike those used in the coffee advert.
living in london..u see a few,an most seem ok,even when u say HELLO !
When I was working for PC World a bloke called Paul Gadd brought his PC in to be fixed...
Got to know Rumor and Scout Willis a little bit at summer camp (Rumor beat me in a relay race), and met their parents. Bruce was scary.
Nick Moran the gangster turned up for training on night at the rugby club I played for. Some sort of preparation for a film apparently. He was very quiet, and he's tiny, but he got stuck in. Never came back though.
Had a pint with the lovely Alice Roberts.
Served Steven Hendry and Dylan Moran Beer bout 6 years back. Steve was a decent fellow up for a chat and Dylan looked like he was going to top himself did'nt really chat though(think he was doing a show in town that night)
Going back a few years saw Zoe Ball when out clubbing, my mate also tried the "where have I seen you before, is it in our local?", and another time clubbing saw Mick Hucknall who had a minder escort him to the toilet
Peter Kay at Knock Airport in Ireland, he did a group photo with us then asked for some privacy for his family and sat round the corner out of sight.
Met absolutely loads of rock stars over the many years of concerts, but only to autograph tickets / programs.
However the most natural highest high ever, was meeting & chatting to Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson & Neil Peart on the 14.5.83 At the N.E.C. hotel.
Will NEVER forget that day.
Just remembered - met Matt Dawson at Home nightclub. I was a little inebriated and told him he was one of my favourite players (true) and described how he'd KOed an Italian player in the match earlier that day 😳 He took it well, seemed like a good geezer.
Oh, talking of queue jumping,
Few years ago now, got gazumped on a ride at Alton Towers by some used-to-be-more-famous blonde channel 4 presenter who's name escapes me for the minute, and her black footballer boyfriend. Stopped the ride and made everyone in the queue wait whilst they had a couple of goes with the entire train to themselves.
Argh, what the hell's she called... Give me a minute, it'll come to me.
They sounds like an orrible pair.
Danni Behr, that's her.
Met Steve Peat while we were out on a ride in Mijas. He was testing some new gear. Very friendly and posed for a few pictures with us.
When I was living in Soho Eva Herzigova stopped me on Broadwick Street and asked if I had the time. A stunning woman.
Walked past Sir Ben Kingsley on West Cromwell Road. He smiled and nodded at me.
I bumped into Graeme Le Saux on Gloucester Road in Kensington and wished him well in the Euro's (1996). He looked at me as if I was something that had just fallen out of his nose. I think he thought I was taking the pi55 as he had sustained an injury or something in the run up that I was unaware of at the time. I wrote him off as a bit of an ass-hat.
Just met Gok Wan filming an ad for Vodaphone right outside my building about 10 mins ago. Nice chap. Not as tall as I was expecting. Got his autograph, does that make me a looser(edit: loser)?
No just a camp winner!
does that make me a looser?
Well, it depends how loose you are to start with I suppose....
