It's hardly a new phenomena. My brother in law admits the sole reason he uses twitter is to slag footballers.

Don't see how that's related to what I said.. unless there's a programme where footballers read out tweets.

Dez my point was people have been doing that since the start of twitter and by numerous other means before then. It's nothing new.

Most of the celebs understand that's part of being on twitter, they'll trade that for the publicity and the adoring posts they get.
