I'm with Stumpyjonย on this. A warranty essentially covers you for things that were wrong before you bought the car but we're not obvious or did not manifest into a problem until you owned the car but we're developing before you owned the car, with lots of exclusions for specific parts and wear and tear etc. Your car getting damaged after you bought it has nothing to do with a warranty unfortunately.
Mate at work had a similar issue, rats ate through the wiring on his Discovery Sport. It took months of arguing and chasing up but in the end either the insurance or warranty paid up. Car was written off.
My dealership uses a ginger tom and a yellow labrador to walk around cars as part of their pre-delivery checks; cat scan results and a lab report are provided with the V5
