So many great shouts on here and the Singer Porsche is definitely a highlight. However I do have an [s]unusual and[/s] unhealthy car crush on the current Cayman in yellow

I've thought about this carefully. If you gave me a lottery win, right now, I'd go down the VW dealer and order a new Passat.

How big a win are we talking? 🙂

This thread has just made me realise that I really don't covet cars at all. None of the above have done anything for me. Not intended in a sanctimonious way, I'm actually slightly surprised by it.

I did have a toy Pontiac firebird when I was little which changed colour when it got warm. That was quite cool when I was seven...

One of these, but with racing pedigree so I can take it racing at Goodwood, Silverstone and Le Mans

Well I already own one of them which is this Volvo S60R. A proper 'R' mind not any of this 'R-Design' styling only rubbish. 300bhp, Ohlins designed electronically controlled chasis and suspension and Brembo Brakes.

Other than that a Bader Racing Karmann Ghia 993 RS would be nice

I ought to fancy something more exciting, and I really try to love supercars but for me fast things that shouldn't be fast and rally cars are amazing. I seem to have a thing for Mercedes cars, not sure why.

So, old car- an SLC rally car.

[img] [/img]

Current car- a Brabus C63 600 Biturbo, but in Wagon form and with a standard Merc badge. Because I'm really a chav.

I probably wouldn't be able to give it the love and attention it would require though:

Am genuinely trying to buy one of these:

I'm going to contradict everything I said on yesterday's driving thread, and get all greedy now. Here's a second choice:

I'm a car as a tool type of person, so mine to covet would need to completely in the other direction.

Something like this:

Nice to see a couple of Karmann Ghias cropping up. I've already had several but still get excited on the rare occasions I see one.

Fantasy one car? An F40.

What I'm actually hoping to get one day in the realistic future? Lotus Elise S1.

It's not made yet. It'll have up to seven seats that will be transformable into a comfortable bed, electricity as the main power source. A solar panel roof. A 10bhp petrol engine for running with flat batteries or off-grid charging. It'll weigh less than a tonne and every component will be re-usable and/or recyclable.

I was going to say a Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing but I'd have this instead. For those days you feel like invading Poland.

Mclaren F1, nothing else really interests me.
Although they don't drop in price much so it's unlikely i will ever buy one.
I have it in my head that they will make something similar to an R8 which will hopefully have similar levels of depreciation (tho the R8 not the F1).

Citroens have appeal (I had a GSA which was nice) - SM, DS..
Also the 205 as above (funnily enough, mine got stolen too, F 875 PST..)

If it's just one, it'd be an Alvis T21 like this (borrowed a burgundy one as our wedding car...)

Wow. Came on this thread to post a pic of a Volvo 240 estate, assuming I'd get laughed at, but I'm not even the first person to do it!

[img] [/img]

Nothing special, just want a nice late 80s GLT with the 2.3l manually injected redblock to replace my 89' GL 2.0 which is currently on SORN on my drive having failed its MOT with rusty sills.

I swear to the Swedish gods I'd take better care of this one.

I'd like to see most of the cars on this thread swallow a slack 650b without taking the wheels off, and look cool doing it.

MrGrim (page2) Had one of those back in the day, in that exact colour scheme. Was glad to see the back of it TBH, bloody death-trap.

As the Giulia QV isn't out yet I'd have to say I still have a hankering fro one of these:

@waswaswas - what are they?! 8)

Easily the best looking cars yet on this thread. Or possibly ever!

@drapoon - your Mk1looks lovely 8). BTW, in Mk1 nerd mode, you maybe aware that those 14" Mk2 steels have a smaller offset than the original 13" rims? Handling and turn in are personal things, I ended up popping in some hub spacers when I was hill climb & sprinting in mine.

Quaife is an excellent call and fitting an early 1600 Mk1 final drive, were easily the best mods I made for the hill climbing 😀
