I used to fly to jobs via easyjet a lot

Bought one of these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Suitcases-Travel-Bags/Cabin-Max-Backpack-Approved-Massive-Luggage-55x40x20/B002Q5APX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483886652&sr=8-1&keywords=cabin+max

It's truly amazing how much they hold, especially as they enable you to have EVERY inch, unlike rollers etc which eat up vast amount of space.

Also a plus is it's a rucksack, so if you arrive late at the gate and they are stickering peoples' bags (to forcibly put them in the hold) yours ALWAYS gets overlooked. This was important for me because I had very expensive photography equipment loose in there amongst clothing to save having to have a second bag - if I didn't I wouldn't really care much - most small destination airports get baggage out pretty much as quickly as you can walk to the pickups.
