[#6774614]

My 2010 Civic has scratched door bins. My old Focus has carpet on the outside of the door bins to prevent scuff marks.

Does anyone know if you can buy scuff protector carpet type stuff to cover the door bins? Or can someone recommend an alternative?

I don't want to use helicopter tape or the like as it look rubbish after a few months.

Many thanks,

Not quite what I had in mind....but a faster response than I've had on CivInfo forum.

Civinfo isn't too bad, they will reply but maybe not so "out the box" as some on here! What about using some sticky backed velcro and fabric of your choice?

You can get carpet for this, its normally called trunkliner or similar.

It stretches in both directions so can mould around wheel arches and other curves without wrinkling, easy to apply with ultra high temp carpet adhesive spray.

Popular for camper conversions and speaker boxes etc, various colours and it is a good match for the type of carpet used by car manufacturers.

Thanks Spooky, I'll investigate further.

Just had a look at the door card. Seems the whole thing is one mould lump of cheap plastic. It's going to take some imagination to trim in nicely.

That sounds promising. I could probably stick a strip on and add some plastic piping to trim the top of the carpet panel.

Very topical as ive just been looking into recovering an old land rover headlining in something other than cream..... they do it in 2 x 1 m bits for 8 quid in various colours.
