Picking up a new (well, second hand) car next Saturday up near Newcastle (I live in the Midlands - long story), dealer is intending to tax it for me but needs an insurance cover note. However, I'm going off my hols this weekend for a week up near Newcastle (with the intention of picking up the car), so how do I get a copy of the insurance certificate to him in time as most insurance companies will only issue full certificates and post them to my home address? Hoping to avoid driving down to the midlands then back up again!

If any of the above makes sense some advice or recommendations for insurers who provide cover notes would be appreciated!

Ask them to fax the cover note directly to the dealer.
