After checking my trailer at the weekend I noticed someone had tried to remove a security ball from the locked coupling (which stops an undersized or ground down towball being used to tow the trailer away with the coupling locked) They'd also had a look at the barrel lock, presumably to check it was fitted.

There is a decent wheelclamp fitted as well but I'm concerned they may return with a spare coupling head, then its just a couple of bolts to undo and after a bit of brute force to the wheelclamp, off it goes 🙁

I can't find a hitchlock box that is big enough to go over the 3.5t coupling bolts without spending around £100...but I have found cappit security bolts. The ones in the first link are the same as supplied by Bradley, the second link is a similar idea but different, can't quite work them out but I guess rather than a twist off nut, the caps are threaded over the bolts and then the washers hammered in to prevent a socket removing them.

Just wondering if its worth the effort, or will a hacksaw make short work of them? Will I be making life difficult for myself if I ever need to remove the coupling head? I don't mind wielding an angle grinder to cut the bolt off but not if I'm going to damage the cast head at the same time!
