It featured a Landlord who never went out but always knew what was going on in the world, a ginger-haired guy and a girl (who I think was possibly in Coupling)

Ah bugger I can picture the show but can't remember the name of it. I do know however that the girl that was in it was Samantha Janus and the strange landlord was (I think at least) Neil Stuke or something like that.
