Talybont on Usk
Wow, I wish I looked that smart in a hat! Ours won't wear them.
He will sit nicely for a canal portrait though. (Llangollen).
She was up for a woodland photoshoot this evening.
So here she is with her new Boho house collar from HounddCo.
Oh they are nice... she looks less impressed though.
This post may have cost me money.
Been to Woolacombe beach today, where he only really went in the sea to retrieve a tennis ball. Bit of a dud for a spaniel, frankly.

Ours is the same, only swims to retrieve a ball, stick or human!
After my very recent break-up, I'm really missing my best mate Murphy. He brought me such much comfort.

Atleast your dog does something witha ball or stick. I can throw anything and lola jist looks up at me and waits for me to go and pick it up.

In all seriousness - find your local animal sanctuary / shelter and volunteer to walk their dogs. I’ve made some brilliant connections to some dogs I’ve walked - it’s also such great news when the dogs get rehomed. The people who work at my local shelter always profusely thank me for walking their dogs - which always baffles me as I consider they’ve done me a favour by allowing me to ‘borrow’ their dogs! It’s also helped me get over the loss of my beloved Bert.
I have good news and bad news. Sadly, our foster guide dog is moving to a new trainer which means she will be leaving us this week. However, we've taken the plunge and will be getting our own Labrador puppy:
It’s our annual shutdown at work so busiest time of the year.
Managed to get a few hours spare yesterday and took Elfie out (Tucker was already out on a walk) - she is on her second viewing Monday so looks like she has found her furever home. Super nice dog.
Borrowed Tucker today and took him to work to check on progress. Everyone was loving Tucker and he got lots of pets and attention……….at double time!
Called in at my parents for his usual cheese treats - he then fell asleep on my mums feet! Such a nice dog!
Why can’t this ****ing forum just work?
Lola think barefeet are a perfect place to dock her arsehole.

Haha, that's class. Thankfully Stacey isn't a sitter. She has no sit.
High ready.
Low ready.
Prone observing.
Prawn prone.
Bruce has been with us six months now. It's been a bit of a journey.
He is getting quite comfortable now though
A bit of a win for the notorious Sprocket the other day when he recalled off a hare in mid-chase. It felt like a minor miracle tbh. Massively proud of the little horror - erm, 'little' being slightly subjective here as he's now 34kg of pointer muscle - given that he's only 18 months old. No complacency, he's still a flaky teenage dirtbag, but still kind of reassuring never the less.
Spot the GWP...

Fair play, that is impressive.
Had similar with Woodie once, in fact just after we'd seen you the one time you met him. He took off after a couple of sheep that we didn't realise were in the field and there was an instant "oh, ****" feeling (cos we hadn't had him that long by that point and his recall was good but not fool-proof) followed by a very firm "Wait!" and, thank god, he stopped. It was a bit of a heart in mouth moment.
Not so lucky a few months afterwards when we were in some woods in Devon and he flushed out a deer which proceeded to run off down into the steep wooded valley with the dog behind it. He did come back, but about 15 minutes later...

I know that feeling. Sprock's not too bothered for sheep generally, but he was off lead up in the northern Lakes on a walled lane a few months back, when a lamb suddenly popped out from under a gate just in front of him, thankfully he came in sharpish on the whistle, but it was a definite 'moment'.
He's practiced recall over and over again, every day, every walk, on and off lead, but it's a relief when it works when you really, really need it to just the same. Also, although he's 'high drive' in the sense of relentless energy, scenting, commitment to a job etc, currently his prey drive is relatively modest - no guarantee that'll last though.
