[#3709906]

Sat in Innerleithen car park with a latte waiting for a local rider to show me some off-piste trails. There is blue sky and the sun is 'peeking' through.

And the latte (and 2 pieces of millionaire's shortbread) only cost £2.20 at the local bakery!

Can life get better?

I hate you.

I'm currently sat at work in a room with no windows or ventilation.

I hate you.

🙂

Yes. You could have a coffee instead of a poncy milkshake.

😉

Yes, you could have been drinking alcohol with a nubile blonde excercising her molars on your significant nether limb.

*smug on*

It can get better; I'm just tidying up at work prior to departing for 2 weeks of sunshine in South Africa, taking my carbon roadie and finishing up by riding the Cape Argus race in Cape Town on 11 March. Next weekend I shall be doing an altitude training ride in a game reserve called the Suikerbossie with a bunch of riders I know there.

*smug off*

I guess you've not seen a lot of Fife then. I used to say "Get to Fife" instead of another well known phrase when I was younger. Now lived there for 11 years and love it. Beaches, trails, hills and nicely central to get to everywhere else in Scotland as well.

haha - im from arbroath. ive seen plenty of fife - usually riding through for some grim TTs from falkland area.

falkland freeride is fun though.

st andrews and that coastline is a complete horror fest though. and alot of the roads all over fife remind me of england and feel like death traps due to narrow + hedges and fast moving cars

"Get to Fife" instead of another well known phrase when I was younger"

get tae falkirk ?

get tae buckie ?

Haha, get tae Fife is a Dundonian phrase. Back in the day my mate used to say that 50p was the best bargain ever did get over the Tay.

The East Neuk is pretty bad, especially on a Sunday. Great scenery though and brilliant wee villages. Glen Clova/Glen Doll is still one of my favorite places in Scotland though.

Cracking time was had, even if I went over the bars twice (luckily only low-speed switch-backs) 😕 This is when you notice that it seems ever one else is running dropper seatposts...

Thanks to J for showing me some local 'knowledge'.

And after Innerleithen I managed two runs around GT to top my week off 🙂
