We're having to move out of our rented house and we've spotted something nearby. Only concern is the calor gas central heating. Im thinking it's going to be more expensive than mains gas, but roughly how much more? Is it a simple xtimes more per unit? There's a log burner too. Its a stone cottage.

It'll cost a fortune IME, particularly as stone cottages are cold as the grave. The log burner might save the day if you enjoy scavenging (stealing) wood and chopping it up.

We have calor gas central heating and hot water, it costs us about £140 a month, though it is reducing now.we have got a multi fuel stove installed. Our house is a 3 bed semi detached cottage.

Neil, that sounds similar to what we've looked at. Not too bad then....
