think the tesco offer is best for us. £25 if 3 months live bought at same time. and as our lads are after another few months live, it suits them just fine 🙂

Only good thing about being off the bike with injury at the moment is the arrival of Black opps!

Knife is vital in search & destroy! 😉

I'm incredibly impatient...i bought Medal Of Honor yesterday and will buy Call of Duty tomorrow if there are any left.

shh...don't tell the wife. If I'm careful she'll think it's the same game.

I think I'll buy the new Fall out too.

Oh and I bought the Red Dead Redemption download too.

Now I'm off to eat some questionable meat to get some time off work.

Just tell her that you downloaded the latest map set for MW2 - that's what I plan to do 😉

Does the new PS3 motion controller and motion controller gun work with it?

If it is anything like my situation, both my brothers want a copy for Chrimbo (and I want a copy too).

I doubt it - the gameplay will be too complex I would imagine.

(And it took them long enough to get a version of the game that worked with DualShock even!!)

Is anyone planning on getting the PC version via Steam? Just wondering if the d/l rates are crap at every big game release (recently bought Civ 5 from Steam and was only a couple of hours to d/l).

Oh ok 🙁

I was just wondering as I don't own any COD or Medel of Honour games yet, I'm just about to buy a PS3 and was wondering if it was worth getting the motion controller to use with this.

Now I just have to decide, get Black Ops, or one of the older ones

Welll... If you go into Game and buy Black Ops along with another title, you'll get black ops for £25, rather than the high price of £44.99.

This is quite a good watch. Gives a good insight to the game for those of us who haven't got it yet.

It's a 24GB download mate!

I downloaded a game off Steam the other day, wasn't a bad DL rate, but I got about 400kbps constant on the game I downloaded the other day... I expect it'll be MANIC tonight to download black ops though, just order it from play.com as they always turn around next day delivery...

My son is 13. I don't let him play this game as it has an 18 rating. Am I being harsh?

It's only an 18 cos the concept is that you're shooting other people...

If he has EVER watched the News, he's likely to know that there are people out there fighting wars on a daily basis.

Would say it's not really that gorey at all. I'd be far more worried about the amount of time a kid was playing it, rather than being outside or doing his homework, than I would about the content of it personally...

I think the Steam d/l was a mistake in hindsight, forgot to turn off sleep mode on the PC overnight so had to restart it this morning 🙁 Still, it should be there by the time I finish work...

It's not a BBFC 18 Only as your shooting other people, there are plenty of other shooting games which are BBFC or PEGI rated suitable for younger age groups. The language, violence and themes in the game are what makes it an 18+. The themes in the game are reflected to an extent in the news and mirrored in films, however watching TV you are not participating in the action, you are observing it. The language is no worse than you will hear in any playground but the effect of a parent giving the game to minor suggests that those methods of expression are tolerated. I'm
not saying don't buy it for your son, just be aware of the content. For me it seems silly that at 16 you could be a married man who is in the armed forces preparing for combat, mortgage and driving licence, but can't legally play 18 games.

So what's the verdict? I'm resisting buying it on Steam so far, but fading fast. Shame Eyefinity isn't supported (again), although a fix will no doubt be sorted by the community sometime soon.

They know you'll be waiting until it's £2 so all of them.

Why do that? I got mine yesterday through the post and for a lot cheaper.

Verdict so far is very good same format with some nice tweaks such as you have to buy perks and guns you don't just get them unlocked with XP.

I now have the RC car bomb it's bloody ace.

Yeah, i'd say so.. He'd witness far worse at school in Dalkeith 😉
I let 8yr olds play and they kick my ass 🙁 (I just make sure the online voice chat is off on anything other than kids games) and only let them play 18s I've played first so I know the content. The only 18s I don't let them play are GTA and Kane and Lynch.
PS ratings are way OTT.. a 15/16 PS rating is really more like a 12A film IMO and an 18 PS = 15 film (watched plenty 12A films with my 8yr old kids and 15s with the 12yr old)

After watching the Video I posted it looks like the developers have done a good job of revamping the format, but i guess only time will tell. The wager matches do look like they could be good fun.

Have my copy next to me with the TV booked for this evening so looking forward to being the customary cannon fodder tonight!! 🙂

So where's got offers? I MIGHT be getting a freebie but I waited last time and it cost me £40 in the end at the supermarket because my mate didn't come good.

Don't think you're being too harsh, its nice to see a parent take responsibility for a change. I'm not saying violent video games are the cause of kids growing into murderers or rapists, nothing like it, but kids need to be kids for a little while longer, they don't need violent imagery rammed down their throats.

I remember standing in the queue in Game buying Halo a few years back being held up as the shop assistant was being shouted at and threatened by a woman. The assistants crime? he wouldn't sell her 10 year old a copy of Grand Theft Auto Vice City - Too many parents these days think a video game is a babysitter.

Rant over - But Black Ops does look awesome

No where really all involve purchasing something else with them to get discount.

Wagner mode! Interesting X-factor link up but I'd happily shoot him up a bit...

Anyone tried it on the Wii yet (yes, I know it won't be as good as Xbox/PS3/PC but I don't have those so not interested, thanks 😉 )?

Oh dear. Predictably, the servers have gone down so everyone's (well, certainly all PC players anyway) locked out of the game at the moment. Tons of people whining about poor performance (I'd agree based on what I've seen). Pretty typical high profile game release then!

Boba I used to sell games, the penalties are severe for selling to a minor. I refused a kid with no ID a BBFC 15 rated game, his dad came to the store ready to start a fight. Turned out the kid was 16, but a bit pubey looking. Prison, huge fines and sacking, never worth the risk. Intresting case, if rockstar hadn't put the cocaine use in Red Dead Redemption nor some of the harsher swearing it would have been rated much lower, Rockstar basically said they wanted an 18 rated game as they sell better.

Oh and black ops on xbox is ok, it's not a revolution but a good evolution.

I bought it today at sainsbury's while doing the weekly shop. Spent £30 in store then got the game for £27.97. First impressions are good, multi player has been improved, less noobs about. And campaign is pretty good so far.

Downloaded it from Steam yesterday, just sat down now for a play and it's doing an update really slooow, then pausing. Why couldn't it do that yesterday. Very frustrating.

the update was probably the final section of the game which completed the download and let you log onto the servers.

Have played multiplayer for a couple of hours. I'm wanting to love but deep down I know its not as good as mw2. Does not look or sound as good. More depth to the game though.

Is it just me?

The servers are not coping very well on PS3. Like the maps, much prefer it so far to MW2 - less noisy, less flying nonsense, more proper fighting.
