A snub? The right move? Outdated anyway? Dilligaf?
What we saying?

Meh. It was a sad day when the EU inexplicably failed its bid to have the bulk of UK made " chocolate" designated as vegolate.
Can't say I know anyone who eats Cadbury by choice TBH
It should have lost it years ago. It’s stretching trade descriptions calling chocolate in the first place
Largely DGAF, but still love Cadbury's Caramel and don't care what you say about it.
Been awful since the Kraft takeover. Surprised it took this long to lose it!
I like Cadbury chocolate. I also like other types of chocolate. I'm so cool and diverse!
Certainly won't Boost their sales.
Man who was anointed head of state by hereditary 'right' which inexplicably enables him to give special patronage to commercial entities at will for their commercial gain, elects not to give it to to company that makes unhealthy food manufactured using (in part) indoor factory farmed dairy.
Trying to work out which ****s not to give the most.
Just wondering what ghastly disgustment the Cadbury bashers on here eat instead?

To the amazement of many Brits, most Europeans are not as enamoured with British milk chocolate bars like Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, Galaxy, Kit Kats, etc. Indeed, one anti-EU oft-repeated mythical claim is that the EU wanted British milk chocolate to be renamed “vegolate” as a means to damage British milk chocolate sales.
Visit the US. You'll be glad of UK Cadbury when you return.

I used to believe that, but then I tried Hershey's. Vile stuff, tastes like it's made from milk powder and cocoa powder, you can do much worse than Cadburys. Still, don't know why the royal family would eat it if they can get posh stuff.

Seems to be a hot topic all over social media. Each side accusing the other of being flakes.
Making chocolate good enough for royalty is no picnic.
I guess Buckingham palace were hoping it would slip out of the news with barely a ripple

Ragussa, natch.

And at a pinch, if there's nothing better, then Lindt.
And Galaxy too.
It won't be a bed of Roses for them from now on.
Certainly not as good as it was since Kraft took over, especially Caramels sorry Cha****ng, they were the first one to go bad, can't stand them now.
Still love a boost or double decker, and diary milk. But I am an adjacent brummie, so feel like I have to like it, even if I don't.
For those claiming Cadbury's got worse when Modelez bought it, b0ll***s it was crap before and generally crap now. Though the chocolate coated stuff isn't as bad as dairy milk.
Anyway much rather have Toblerone or Milka.
I feel slightly rippled with a flat underside about it.
I'm firmly in the Dilligaf group. For all the faults of the monarchy, I'm not sure the granting or removal of the royal warrant from Cadbury will make much difference to the fight against oppression.
I still quite like Cadburys, though I prefer other brands from Aldi to Lindt. And no matter what the chocolate snobs think, you can still do a lot worse than Cadburys, whether it's Hersheys or whatever reconstituted goat turd they make cheap tree chocolates out of.
Fair to say, Kraft have made a right fudge with their handling of Cadbury's/
Good. They have been making it incrementally worse for years as there is little real competition. There is definitely a market spot for better chocolate without turning into all that snobby s****y stuff with tasting notes.

im generally in that camp, but if you are in a position of incredible privilege then it is good to use it to express dissatisfaction. Regardless of your views of the product, it apparently well known that both they and Unilever (or respective parent/subsidiaries) are continuing to operate in Russia, who are perceived as our adverseries at the moment. So good not to give them any official approval. I doubt it has a meaningful impact on sales, but it will cause some marketing people a bit of a headache as various packaging all needs to be quickly redesigned.

you may or may not think it is better / worse but mars/galaxy is clear competition in the U.K. so if they had it wrong in delivering what the masses want (cheap sugar and fat hit) the market would have spoken. There is a niche for fancy chocolate - you just need to get over your reverse snobbery!
I am surprised that this hasn't been posted yet

has it been proven that a Royal Warrant brings in extra revenue?
I remember being in Ballater years ago and was impressed with the huge Royal Warrant plaque thing above the shop door. The barman in the pub told me that was where Princess Anne sent her lacky to get her fags.
I feel slightly rippled with a flat underside about it.
I’m unable to decide if I care until I know what the puppet of Trump, our Nige’ thinks.
Enough of our 'nige. Perhaps you should have a time out until you get back on topic
Cadbury's is a bit meh
When I was a kid visiting family in Ireland was great as the Irish Cadbury's chocolate bars were much nicer. Mmmmm Golden Crisp

Very much this.
Anyway much rather have Toblerone
Had some of one recently. It was meh. On par with Cadbury’s - too sweet, barely chocolate flavored, and a poor melt and texture.
Belgian chocolate for the win.
I imagine it won’t help sales abroad more than uk
Is it because it’s no longer technically a British company ?
Their milk chocolate is some of the best still though.
For the chocolate snobs above what is good milk chocolate then ?

It has gone downhill a lot since Mondelez - it might not have been purist chocolate before it was bingeable if you were a fan, but now it is pretty rank and easy to avoid. Try not eating it for a month and then giving it a go.
And Toblerone isn't great either - even if Asda have large bars for £3 instead of £5.5o at the moment...
Vile chocolate anyway.

Tony's Chocolonely FTW
Tony’s Chocolonely FTW
Just beaten to it. Proper random shape blocks to get your gob around.
Their milk chocolate is some of the best still though.
It really isn't. Very low cocoa content and bulked out with vegetable fat and sugar. I guess it's alright if you don't actually like the taste of cocoa. A bit like a Starbucks Salted Caramel Maple Latte is nice for people who don't like coffee.
that Tony's stuff is a bit pricy for my liking, so I go for Tesco Pecan & Honeycomb, yum

Cadbury bashers
Is that a euphemism?
