I've been looking at smart watches and I like the look of the LG G Watch R which is quite cool. I fully accept it's an early version of what smart watches will become though. But still, I'm tempted. It's utterly pointless and no-one could possibly ever need one...

[img] [/img]

Obviously that's an LCD display.

What nonsense thing have you got your eye on?

I've spent a couple of days trying to talk myself out of buying a Naim Mu-so. I don't need it, can't really afford it but can't honestly say that it'll not end up sat beneath the TV before xmas.

Very nearly bought myself the framed version of this http://www.firebox.com/product/6230/Find-a-Stranger?via=searchbox but realised I've nowhere really to put it, and she wouldn't like it either... Would have been fun explaining it to inlaws tho!

I treated myself to two tool chests in the recent Halfords deal and this week a s/h full-suss.

Apparently, well according to my Missus, I ought to wait for Christmas before I open/use them...

Good job she doesn't know about the 1x10 components that'll turn up today 🙂

a house, but without a log burner, so my main present is the log burner installed this week (for Christmas). About 4T of wood waiting for a woodstore to be built for next year, so for my stocking filler, 1T of seasoned hardwood. The wife is buying me an axe...

just ordered a denon dm39 and dali zensors that ive been promising my self after every job ive done offshore this year but never pulled the trigger for various reasons.

Its "our" xmas present since the current piece of crap stereo has crapped out.

to me 300 quid is daft for a stereo - as my current stereo was about 60 quid... and my garage stereo also cost 60 quid..... but i realised as soon as i played some music i know well - even as no audiophile that music was "different" so ive spent the last couple of years rediscovering old music through new speakers. - its an 80s technics amp and 5 disk cd unit with mission m30s all sourced off gumtree/ebay for bargain prices.

I just hope this new set up is even close to the garage kit.

A surfboard. I live in the middle of the country so the nearest decent surf is a long drive away meaning I'll probably use it a couple of times a year.

Completely different scale to most things here, but I treated myself to a Thermopop quick read thermometer in time for the Xmas turkey. Not that stupid as it's functional, but £20 for a thermometer is kind of a lot.

Not so daft, but I bought myself a Surly Straggler fork for my commute bike so I can stick some big fat tyres in there 🙂

superfi also have an open box dm39 unit without speakers for 159

Not much I can tell you I'm afraid, not used it yet (won't be till Christmas day). I bought it from my local music shop (who price match) so paid £52.50 for it.

Cant wait, been learning some Pumpkins tunes especially 🙂

Bought myself a Global TS 1 frame from the classifieds and built it up last weekend, wanted one for years and nobody else was going to buy me one. Also a bottle of my favourite port to celebrate not being back in work until January. So great purchases really, pic of the bike but the bottle of Port is emptying itself rapidly into my glass.

I normally treat myself to something at Christmas, but haven't found anything I want ( need has little to do with it ) this year.

I looked at a watch, but ended up looking at the new version of a watch I already have which would be pointless.

I have thought of a PS4 for fun over Christmas, but having always been a PC gamer I am not sure about making the jump to console.

I looked at upgrading my somewhat flakey PC, but the cost was over my budget, so that plan was discarded.

As it stands, my "treat" for myself is going to be getting the exhaust manifold of my TD5 engine skimmed and re-fitted. 😀

I'm not sure whether I really bought it for Pumpkins tunes or whether I bought it just so I could say I'd bought a big muff 🙄

I really want a nice rigid SS to replace the inbred I've got. Anyone know of any nice 650b singlespeeds going that aren't too expensive but are nicer than an inbred?

Failing that I got myself these a week or 2 ago.

Aracer, I have a Tektronix TDS 220 Kicking around the workshop which I upgraded earlier on in the year. It was a bit funky as I couldn't get in spec. I'll run it through a calibration, define the errors and if it's acceptable, you can have it.

Just bought a Nikon D5300 camera. Always wanted a DSLR and with the recent birth of our son thought it was the ideal time to capture him growing up. Still learning about photography and don't really know about all the settings yet but trying to teach myself.
