I've been looking at smart watches and I like the look of the LG G Watch R which is quite cool. I fully accept it's an early version of what smart watches will become though. But still, I'm tempted. It's utterly pointless and no-one could possibly ever need one...
Obviously that's an LCD display.
What nonsense thing have you got your eye on?
I've also been looking at these.....love the way the digi face looks "real", online at least!
I've spent a couple of days trying to talk myself out of buying a Naim Mu-so. I don't need it, can't really afford it but can't honestly say that it'll not end up sat beneath the TV before xmas.
Off to look at an escort van tomorrow. Mrs went nuts when I told her. But I have always wanted one
I bought myself one of these boot dryers after another thread. Strangely excited.

+1 for the boot drier
mine is "for my wife" though 😆
mine is "for my wife" though
How wet does that woman get, and can she not use a towel?
I almost bought a Cotic Soul tonight. Well it was cheap!
Many things as I walked through duty free this afternoon... Just 2 more to go.
Coke & hookers...sorry ,
I'm on the verge of buying a Bosch oscillating saw/mutlitool thing...... 😯
Very nearly bought myself the framed version of this http://www.firebox.com/product/6230/Find-a-Stranger?via=searchbox but realised I've nowhere really to put it, and she wouldn't like it either... Would have been fun explaining it to inlaws tho!
Jones loop bars. The carbon ones...
Not too daft but I'm hoping to buy a second hand set of Lyriks in the new year depending on how much I end up spending over the festive period!
I bought me a Big Muff 🙂
thats a mighty timepiece Jeff!...
think id rather buy a couple of V10's and Nomad for my buck tho...
I treated myself to two tool chests in the recent Halfords deal and this week a s/h full-suss.
Apparently, well according to my Missus, I ought to wait for Christmas before I open/use them...
Good job she doesn't know about the 1x10 components that'll turn up today 🙂
Treated myself to another tattoo on Saturday, last year I had my nipple pierced, wonder what I will do next year..
jeffc, that is stunning.
a house, but without a log burner, so my main present is the log burner installed this week (for Christmas). About 4T of wood waiting for a woodstore to be built for next year, so for my stocking filler, 1T of seasoned hardwood. The wife is buying me an axe...
I just showed Mrs Q. A fat bike and said I want one and I know where to get one that fits me on Thailand (a fund in itself)
I've been told to do buy it.
Not yet though add I dint feel nerded up enough yet to know about all the offset hubs and forks
tell me more - I have a hankering for one of these to run from my strat....I bought me a Big Muff
Beer!
Ok it's not daft.
A Denon soundbase for tv, after my previous thread got resurrected yesterday...
On the smart watch front. This is the first one that has tempted me..

just ordered a denon dm39 and dali zensors that ive been promising my self after every job ive done offshore this year but never pulled the trigger for various reasons.
Its "our" xmas present since the current piece of crap stereo has crapped out.
to me 300 quid is daft for a stereo - as my current stereo was about 60 quid... and my garage stereo also cost 60 quid..... but i realised as soon as i played some music i know well - even as no audiophile that music was "different" so ive spent the last couple of years rediscovering old music through new speakers. - its an 80s technics amp and 5 disk cd unit with mission m30s all sourced off gumtree/ebay for bargain prices.
I just hope this new set up is even close to the garage kit.
A 29er.
A cheap and burly set of 29er wheels from SSC.
Disappointed when today's courier turned out to be parcel for wife.
A surfboard. I live in the middle of the country so the nearest decent surf is a long drive away meaning I'll probably use it a couple of times a year.
Completely different scale to most things here, but I treated myself to a Thermopop quick read thermometer in time for the Xmas turkey. Not that stupid as it's functional, but £20 for a thermometer is kind of a lot.
New gaming PC should have built it myself but was feeling lazy spent £400 more than I originally budgeted it dawfs my 7 year old box.

That's a brilliant name, ZEUS EVO THUNDER 2000!1!!
But, dude, it's nearly 2015!
Oh, and trying to persuade the missus to let us spend an absolute shed-load of cash on the house over the road.
ir_bandito - very generous of you, but why not spend it on your own house? 🙂
Not so daft, but I bought myself a Surly Straggler fork for my commute bike so I can stick some big fat tyres in there 🙂

What nonsense thing have you got your eye on?
Toying with getting a chip fitted on mrsmonkfingers turbo golf.
Just bought a Trace Elliot Ta100 Acoustic amp - will be used for gigging, but they are a lovely piece of kit 🙂 Wife wasn't too impressed when it turned up yesterday - apparently we're meant to be 'saving'.
Trail_rat - I'm trying hard to convince myself that I need to one of those denon's as well but probably with different speakers. Maybe wait until after christmas to see if they drop in price.

trail_rat - you won't be disappointed! I bought the Denon a couple of years ago when my old stereo "crapped out". Brilliant piece of kit!
I bought a bow-tie for Xmas dinner
If that Denon played DVDs and had a TV output It'd be just what I'm after
StuF
i got the system from superfi for 299 inc cables and free delivery - i didnt think it would get much cheaper given they are 199 quid speakers - richer sounds doing them with different speakers - i hummed and hawed over the wharfdale diamond 220
superfi also have an open box dm39 unit without speakers for 159
glad to hear it will not disappoint

Ive just been gazumped on those landy wheels. I was going to go and pick them up tonight. 🙁
Have just put an offer in on another set over the border in taffland. Will see...

Not much I can tell you I'm afraid, not used it yet (won't be till Christmas day). I bought it from my local music shop (who price match) so paid £52.50 for it.
Cant wait, been learning some Pumpkins tunes especially 🙂
bought me a Big Muff
Is that a Big Mac with a pubic hair in it?
A Ti exhaust manifold off a Caterham (Renault) F1 V8 turned up today, from the crowd funding thing they did.
The welding. Is. Magnificent.
Well, my 2nd set of Chinese carbon rims turned up today 😀
Bought myself a Global TS 1 frame from the classifieds and built it up last weekend, wanted one for years and nobody else was going to buy me one. Also a bottle of my favourite port to celebrate not being back in work until January. So great purchases really, pic of the bike but the bottle of Port is emptying itself rapidly into my glass.

After 30 years I've gone and got a new tattoo. And I'm really rather pleased with it. 😀
Bought myself a horizontal milling machine, and just got a percussion press for £15...
I'm seriously considering getting one of those carbon fatbike frames from China and building up my oo rolling chassis into a matt black ninja machine.
A set of Top Trump cards
(Planet Rock - Rock Gods)
I normally treat myself to something at Christmas, but haven't found anything I want ( need has little to do with it ) this year.
I looked at a watch, but ended up looking at the new version of a watch I already have which would be pointless.
I have thought of a PS4 for fun over Christmas, but having always been a PC gamer I am not sure about making the jump to console.
I looked at upgrading my somewhat flakey PC, but the cost was over my budget, so that plan was discarded.
As it stands, my "treat" for myself is going to be getting the exhaust manifold of my TD5 engine skimmed and re-fitted. 😀
well i suppose mine would be the house i'm buying.

No, it's the fillet o ..... IGMC 😀
I'm not sure whether I really bought it for Pumpkins tunes or whether I bought it just so I could say I'd bought a big muff 🙄
A decent MTB!
maxtorque - an oscilloscope? intriguing.
I have ordered some new wheels and yellow esi grips.

Postie delivered my Chrimbo Pressie to myself today:
Ha! I bought a scope for myself last christmas. Only a 100 mhz one but I only do basic stuff. Is that the Rigol with the firmware hack?
A calculator. With gears.
NAIM MU-SO On my want list to replace my B&W Zeppelin
A new set of winter riding gear inc a Gabba. My old stuff is worn out and my upcoming event is sponsored by Castelli...
I had a new bike and a PS4 for xmas off myself which was nice.
I might even pick up some new rims in the xmas sales too if I see some I fancy.
Someone in this thread needs these badly.
A house .....
@ CaptainSlow - surely with a Big Muff you should be playing Mudhoney?
sitting on the buy button for pair of mavic cosmic carbones , may have to get delivered to a mates house though............

#quitegeeky
How much is one of those? Really quite fancy a proper one, for the time being I make do with http://www.gabotronics.com/development-boards/xmega-xprotolab.htm
Aracer, I have a Tektronix TDS 220 Kicking around the workshop which I upgraded earlier on in the year. It was a bit funky as I couldn't get in spec. I'll run it through a calibration, define the errors and if it's acceptable, you can have it.
Croix De Fer 30 🙂 didn't need it and couldn't really justify it so sold my 2014 one a few weeks ago so as not to be n+1 !
It's been a crap year so credit card time 🙂
Wow, well I wasn't expecting that sort of Christmas spirit Lee - thanks, YGM.
Just bought a Nikon D5300 camera. Always wanted a DSLR and with the recent birth of our son thought it was the ideal time to capture him growing up. Still learning about photography and don't really know about all the settings yet but trying to teach myself.
