or rather avoiding it, due to current political shenanigans over the Falklands. Is my protest really only having an effect on relatively poor farmers who are not arsed about the Malvenas, or a valid stance?
Malvenas
Malvinas. ๐
Don, I think you mean "The Falkland Islands"
Oh OK clever dick/don I am about half way down the Chilean alternative (+ some rather nice home made Raspberry Vodka) ๐
No, I'm happy with Islas Malvinas, thanks.
I've just watched a brilliant Argentinian film. Should I be ashamed?
I've been licking out the inside of a Fray Bentos tin...will I burn in hell?

Please explain the cultural/historical origins of the name Malvinas. Is that what the original Argentinian population of the islands called them?

Why?
I'm quite happy wearing my trainers without tying the laces.
I'm quite happy about riding my bike without wearing a helmet.
I was wary about putting mayonnaise on chips until I went to Amsterdam, no I'm quite happy about it.
Shall I explain my reasons for these too. I fear this could be a long night. ๐

That's in Uruguay so you're probably safe. You might be a footballing racist though.
I had some nice Argentinian wine the other night.
As to what the 'original' inhabitants of the islands called them...well, i guess that until we learn how to converse with penguins, we'll never know.

I spent some time in Argentina last year. I was worried what they might make of a Brit like me. In fact the average man on the street clearly doesn't/didn't give two hoots about The Falklands, at that time at least. I cant imagine its changed greatly. They have better things to think about like which amazing steak to eat.
And the wine is great. Though a few people told me that the export the tat and based on what I tried when I was there I am inclined to agree.
Amazing country, lovely people, astounding food and the best long distance buses in the world!
I heard a Gary Glitter track the other day. And didn't switch off.

Probably the same as here then.
Although our buses are sh*t.
Well thanks gents. That's cleared up my quandary then. ๐
(think I'll risk it in future, as long as it's Fairtrade!)
You drinking again after last weekend? ๐
Couldn't even face shandy 'till Friday.
