Practically every country in the Middle East is a dictatorship, and most of them have oil. And yet the US isn't in the least bit interested in invading them. Actually they count on most of them as very close friends.
The US has never been bothered with dictatorships. In fact the US has helped overthrow quite a few elected governments so that brutal dictatorships could be established in their place.
The only thing the US demands from a dictatorship is that it serves the best interests of US imperialism.
