Looking for a bunkhouse to take around 10 for a weekend in April / May. Any recommendations or even a biker friendly pub?

Otherwise I'm stuck to camping which I'd rather not do.

Cheers

I stayed here with some friends a couple of years ago.

It's the only bunkhouse I have ever stayed at, so I don't know how it compares to others, but it seemed pretty good to me.

Try http://www.elenydd-hostels.co.uk/index.html I believe that it is exactly what you require, being but a few hundred metres from the top end of the Doethie valley.

Also, the Royal Oak in Rhandirmwyn is excellent. http://www.theroyaloakinn.co.uk/Site/welcome.html
Chris, the new landlord still keeps superb beer, cooks great food and runs an amazing pub. Loads of good riding nearby too, inc Cwm Rhayader, as recently featured in MBR. Best included as a final hit to a longer Mynydd Mallaen ride though.

Was just about to post Ambrose's link to the Eleyndd hostels, both in cracking spots, I've fancied staying at Ty'n Cornell for ages.

Ty'n-yr-cornel, as in Ambrose's photo. Amazing cycling down the valley. Have fun!
