The other day i was told by an office desk jockey, that he was vacating the unit, and he wouldnt be back on the site until next week.

When i asked if he as just going home he just nodded.

Also whats "vertical realignmnet", moving to another desk across the corridor it appears,

Surely if it's only accross the corridor it would be horizontal? Or do the corridors where you work feature a lot of stairs?

No, "vertical realignment" is not moving to another desk across the corridor. I use it all the time, for example, when I am squaring up the doors on kitchen units so that they show a parallel margin with the vertical sides. Which incidentally is one of the last jobs I do before vacating the unit.

You are just imagining Dr Who coming into your life to shake things up.

People at my office have started to use the term 'socialise' when they talk about sharing new ideas to other departments in order to get 'buy in'

End of thread ๐Ÿ™‚

I would have thought "vacating the unit" would have meant going for a nice dump.

I have a complete ban on people saying they're going to "socialise an email" when they mean send it around.

Perhaps 'vacating the unit' could describe the moment you atop having sex with a big fat lady.

"Let's freeze this moment for a bio-break"

=

I am going for a pee

I was in a meeting at Barcl a bank when she said this. I was the only one who giggled.

As part of my work I frequently have to attend meetings with Change Managers (WTF?) from the Royal Bank of Scotland - In the last post project review they were a little bemused when my entire feedback consisted of a comment that "I was thoroughly impressed by the quantity and quality of TLA's used throughout the project".

I think they realised I was taking the pee. ๐Ÿ˜†

What you'd have there then is diagonal realignment. Very popular in the Church amongst Bishops.

"Let's freeze this moment for a bio-break"

And, what you've got there is a World of Warcraft player. 'bio' is the accepted term for "I'm going for a wazz, try not to die."

Oh yes, it really is so pointless that one, what else can you do? Go back? I don't think so unless its "back to the future"

Change Managers

I'm a change manager. It's a term used when you're working with initiatives that don't warrant a project, or where you are running a small part of a massive project.

"Totality of Change" - I hate that one

"We need to present this as a good news sandwich" - The best one from last week, I actually spat my coffee out over that one , Tell them some good news, hit them with the bad news and then finish off some good news.

I'm doing Prince2 in a couple of weeks so I'll be qualified to talk complete twaddle.
