Anyone had any dealings with BT onn this? Background is - 5 years of phone line with BT, broadband with pipex. At any one time we've only been able to use either the landline or bb, not both simultaneously. If you used the landline there was so much noise that you couldn't hear the caller, and the broadband speed would drop to 30k ish. Getting it back up to speed would take days/weeks.
Numerous visits from openreach - 8 new routers, a cupboard full of filters as this was definitely not the line at fault. Finally lost my rag - had yet another engineer out (20 call outs so far)and he found corrosion on some terminals on the post. fixed, job done 🙂
They are offering me £45 compensation - so naff all. Taken it to ofcom and BT have called to try and confirm this settlement. Surely I am entitled to a bit more kick back than this? Having spent £15 a month for 60 months?
Any advice guys?
Wait and see what ofcom say. BT are taking the pee, imo.
Explain to them at £45 a visit they're paying you £2.50 for each morning off work you've had to take to be home for an engineer and that it's not enough.
