Fair play to brook for stepping up. I want to see ggg move up and test himself againt the bigger super middleweights. Him and james degale would be a good fight.

The ring walks are getting a bit silly these days.

Only got it on the radio but sounds like a good fight - and the trainer played a blinder

That was abrupt.. the energy out of Brook.. I think the eye injury will be uncovered.. deserves a rematch if that is the case

Great effort from Brook but he was getting hurt there. Very impressed with his aggression.

Brook suggests a broken eye socket in the second....

aye good effort, i think golovkin would have gone on to dominate later rounds if it went the distance.

decent fight though, wanted more!

Brook says I am surprised he didn't hit harder, broken eye socket in second round. Thank god Ingle threw the towel in.

Got home from party, skipped through 300 mins and watched it! Fantastic stuff while it lasted, in that 2nd round even got an inkling that Brook could outbox him. Made GGG look quite ordinary at times, but silly me, that 3rd round changed it all eh. Not many others could do that to Brook.

Fair play to Brook for taking him on, I didn't expect that tactic. In fact, it was ballsy but all wrong.

Imagine being so thick that you can sit there booing a boxer's trainer because he pulled "your" boxer out to save him from getting punished. "boo! you should of let him get annihilated" duh.

Agreed Dez. He was getting slaughtered at the end.

Brook had heart. I reckon he even took a round off of GGG.

He also actually had the balls to fight him, when most avoid fighting him like the plague.

The truth is, Galovkin in PvP the best in the world, probably the best middleweight of all time. He is a phenomenon. Iron hands and a jaw cut from Medusa stone.

GGG is maybe the best middle weight of this era but he isnt the greatest middleweight of all time Imho.

Robinson, Hagler, Monzon. Any of those were better than GGG Imo. They would have be to good for him.

Intersting that he said he wanted B.J.S. belt next,i haven't got twitter but I wonder if saunders has made any comment about arranging that fight as i'm sure he was watching and heard golovkin say it,or maybe he wants to keep the belt a bit longer:)

Always very difficult to compare across the eras - but i remember Hagler Hearns Duran and Leonard who were all very good but i have a feeling GGG would give them a real run for their money.

GGG v Hagler is a good one to imagine - Mr unstoppable force, please meet Mr immovable object.
Think Hagler would be too accomplished for GGG. Hearns was the magician of that era but the Marvelous one was a skilled technician. That's to go along with a chin made of depleted uranium and generally being harder than a coffin nail.

That time was just different gravy, though, compared to today's middleweight scene. I suspect we'll never know if GGG is an all time great as there's just not enough quality around for him to prove it [and he got a late start with his pro career]. Moving up seems like a stretch just looking at him, doesn't seem to have the frame for it, but maybe he could do something unexpected there at supermiddle.

Very good performance by brook.

Pity for ggg that the middleweight scene is a bit depleted at the moment. It would have been good to see him in against a prime hopkins, roy jones, gerald mcleland or james toney.

Too right. GGG's great to watch and superb for this era, but couldn't have lived with the top 80s middleweights.
Look at how easily Kell landed on him... Leonard would've boxed his ears off I reckon.

Leonard only had two fights at MW and his record was won one, lost one

I think GGG legacy will be cemented when he takes the title from BJS. I think his lack of head movement is his Achilles heel much like when everyone realised they could jab Tyson's head off and slow him down. Ultimately taking 123 shots to let off your own isnt a good strategy in the long run.
An interesting prospect of GGG moving up and taking on some big boys would be a good move. A 2/3 weight world champion would move him up the ranks.

Can BJS run for 12 rounds to win? I doubt it more than I doubted Brook. Eubank jnr would have a chance given GGG can be hit and looked very uncomfortable going backwards but needs at least one more world class opponent.

BJS is very skilled but no dig on him at all AFAIK. Think GGG would just walk him down and it would be very one-sided.
Chance that GGG would take him lightly and something miraculous could happen - Golovkin's not bothered about taking shots from sluggers like Lemieux so he wouldn't be giving a monkeys about anything from BJS.

BIlly Joe is skillful, but doesn't strike me as anywhere near strong enough. He'd be up for the fight though, as he's a confident bugger. Can see that fight happening.

Just knew someone would come along and do the trendy thing and diss Leonard ๐Ÿ˜†
