pretty much unmatched in aggregate

the unmatched history of Liverpool
My lazy and imprecise use of language lets me down again. I meant those two things to mean exactly the same. I'm ashamed that I left a gap big enough for a subjective wedge.
Why don't we all flounce off, as JY says, and reconvene in precisely one year's time to consider whether Brendan managed to find a
to have wasted his time at our magnificent club..?single solitary reason
at our once magnificent club
let me get that for you.
Don't worry, if all else fails there's always room for King Kenny's 3rd coming..
ROFLMFAO
let me get that for you
Flounce off, would'ya? And take your spoon with you.
As Pepe le Pew would say, ''ze truth, it 'ert.''
BR has a great positive attitude and seems well in touch with how the game is progressing.. as long as he makes the right choices with what players he buys then he's gonna do ok. The problem will be overcoming that big hurdle that separates the top few clubs from the rest of the premier league. When you consider what budget he had with Swansea and how they performed then you'd probably think he will be a top manager.
Shame he can't give Woy Hodgson some pointers on Ball possesion and creativity in time for the Euros.
This is true, BR may just turn out to be a saviour of sorts. Cometh the hour..
I do believe the signing of Rodgers as a good one and a step in the right direction. But I'm nervous too for the simple fact is he needs time and that wasn't given to Hodgson who I think is a good manager and his treatment by fans and the media was poor t say the least. As soon as Kenny was sitting on his shoulder his days were numbered.
I agree with most of your post but think BR will be given time. Roy was the Cowboys' appointment. When FSG came in they always wanted to start their own project. I fully believe he was already on borrowed time, but they would have preferred to keep him in the interim (perhaps for a year more) whilst finding their own man. This was never Kenny, he was only a stop-gap, but results and league position necessitated the emergency change. Kenny was not the reason for Roy's sacking but the solution to it.
To give them (FSG) some credit, they then went on to give Kenny a chance and backed him with a bit of cash, but he was always under more pressure because it was clear that he wasn't really part of the plan. Again , it was easier for them to get rid because he wasn't really their "choice" but an almost enforced appointment and so had more to justify.
BR is FSG's choice. He is part of their long term plan. They have to give him the time he needs. The "fire-fighting" phase of the last 2 years is over now so there is a little more room to let the plan flow. If there is a benefit to be taken from this period, its that they have had a proper introduction to English Soccer and an extended time to analyse the options and chose the right manager. Liverpool have traditionally given their managers a fair crack of the whip, and its time to do that again.
And Sigurdson looks like a good first signing if that goes through 🙂
BR is FSG's choice.
I thought it was Martinez.
We are led to believe that Martinez was first choice once Rodgers had ruled himself out, once he'd made it know that he was interested it seems they dropped Martinez interest immediately.
I wanted Rafa back myself...

The Edinburgh defence then? 😉
Dear Mr. Junkyard,
While idly waiting for an egg to boil, I thought I'd have a google. The water's still cold enough to dip my finger in, and I needed only one mouse click...

Unmatched!
Or do you want to invent a complex series of coefficients for the varying merits of each competition to disprove this?
Well I've lowered myself to abject, if brief, googling pedantry, and I'm sorry. And while I've proved a point, I can only concur that historic superiority is immaterial. All that matters now is 2012-13 and beyond. Come on Brendan! Come on you Reds!
Hugs all round,
zimbo
League Cup a major cup- you are having a laugh arent you? Seriously do you think it is ? Would you call it a double to have that and the league?
Without that you are not the whole one ahead of Man U nor if we include the cahrity shield you are behind with both those changes.
I would say comparable but you beat your drum as loud as you like for that one extra.
Have you spent the last day writing that page 😀
Its a big gulf between us and the rest and bigger than I would have thought- well done for winning the league cup this year as it makes you the best team ever .....FACT 😀
Odd to include that tbh but I see the rationale and you do have a point if you work it out that way- we could argue whether we should count this or that but comparable would still be my point and I very much doubt you will concede it- ie we could calculate it another way and have man u as top if we wished so its a mute point and a pointless debate. However calculated that way your team are top by 1but i am not sure that means unmatched but you can have best using that method.
.
Unmatched
1. Not matched: unmatched socks.
2. Without equal or rival; peerless:
again a pin dancing pointless debate to be had there a well
Similiar , slightly better but not unmatched or peerless IMHO
You're too complicated for me, kid! Unmatched means peerless - what's confusing about that? Genuine question. (Although I was ashamed of my pedantry gooling of "most successful english team". A semantic debate over what "unmatched" means hits a new low! Congratulations!)
oops you beat me with your ninja edit! I can't argue with you about what you think words mean!
Shall we argue about whose red is more redder - Liverpool's or Man U's?
I did not write the dictionary
I did not see your posts before editing.
If you think 1 more [using that method but less using a slightly different methods] is unrivalled and peerless then so be it.
Again it is a superb record but it is not unmatched even if it is one better. It will become a pointless pin dance about words.
Shall we just agree that everyone else is worse?
it is not unmatched even if it is one better
One or the other of us fails to understand the basic laws of existence. Me, I've always thought that if you win by just 1, you definitely still win...
Shall we just agree that everyone else is worse?
Shall we just agree to stop this nonsense, because frankly both of us are boring me?
Depends how you count the scores though 😉
Heads zimbo wins, tails junkyard loses...
Shall we argue about whose red is more redder - Liverpool's or Man U's
United's - being the red of the Devil.
