Struggling to remember who jumped and who was pushed this year:
TJ and Fred were given their marching orders, but can't remember any high profile drama-queen style, toys out of pram, whingy-whiny, self obsessed, running home to mummy hissy fits this year.
Which notable flouncers did I miss?
And where's Ernie?
Where's GW gone?
Rusty spanner for talking about the secret ban list
Apparently ernie is under threat of permanent ban in, I assume, another attempt to send subscriptions through the roof[ see also TJ claim]. Now also very helpful to overpriced goods sellers[ but not for profit sales still and its still just for mates to sell on bits as a quick scan of posting histories of classified users will confirm]
I cancelled my sub - does that count as a flounce ๐
Ernie's been about lately.
don Simon and TSY got lifetime bans as did Smee or whoever his last incarnation was. Some of them are back now though, apparently.
m_f's not been around in ages either.
Oh and site traffic has gone through the roof.
m_f's not been around in ages either.
I miss m_f ๐ฅ
And Fred (obviously)
To correct what DD said, I did not get a lifetime ban. I asked for my previous account to be closed/deleted/given a lengthy ban due to the serious amount of abuse that I was taking on that account. I set this account up when my father inlaw had his crash, without the intention of using it much. But hey ho - I'm using it now and so far I'm not getting any abuse, so will keep it open until that inevitably starts, which I hope it doesnt.

I'm asking about people who've left voluntarily - nowt wrong with that is there?
geoffj, he's on twitter.
Fair enough Smee, I stand corrected. Oh, and you asked for it on all your previous incarnations. But you know that already.
I don't think there were any flounces.
Potato.
True al, I don't remember any, but a few people quietly went on their ways.
EDIT: but this was more than made up for by the massive spike in premier sign-ups and increase in site traffic.
only flouncer i remember was surfmat.
a few nice folk seem to hae stopped posting.......epicyclo was a good bloke who dont post now.
Who was it that flounced and re-appeared a week or so later?
EDIT: but this was more than made up for by the massive spike in premier sign-ups and increase in site traffic.
And you know this how?
dd what's his twitter name?
Edit: found him
Didn't DD flounce and then return ?

Got the impression he was known to quite a few folk.

Chipp's is funding Footflap's bunker.
It's to protect us from the end of the world, sadly due to too many mistakes we had to ask the Mayans to wait a few more weeks until we got the door rebuilt.
And you know this how?
Mark gave it as one of the reasons for banning TJ- it was costing subscriptions apparently - he gave no figures but feel free to ask him for proof ๐
druidh.......not over there >>>>>>>> where they swear at you.
No, no, no. The one for fatties ๐
Oh this is disappointing as I thought it was fluffers........
colin...tell him i miss him.
only flouncer i remember was surfmat
And it was an AWESOME flounce!!!
Not his first or I would imagine his last.
He got a posthumous award on the magic seaweed forums.
I've had enough of flouncing. I'm out of here.
Who was GW btw?
Not sure how to answer that really, those are his initials
Are there more less interesting people on here these days? As long as they are consuming priced material I don't suppose it matters.
I'm <this> far from signing up for premier membership. Slightly stricter moderation might just do it.

No, less more interesting people

I suspect that the ratio of Bike:Chat posts has changed a bit over the course of the last 12 months. We certainly don't seem to see so many massive Chat threads (usually politics, nuclear power/global warming related). I'm still surprised at the number of "regulars" whose name only ever appears in the Chat forum and wonder why they chose STW as a medium for their spleen-venting.
I dont get the link between using the forum and having a subscription to the mag.
Be interesting to see a venn diagram of it all. ๐

Be interesting to see a venn diagram of it all. My subscription isn't really "to the mag", it's more a way of contributing to the site as a whole. I stopped getting the paper copy sent to me and just pick out the (usually few) articles I'm interested in reading.

I guess it's because the chat section is a bit livelier, more personality required perhaps? Dunno. I liked things when there was just one message board. It meant fewer boring threads stayed on the first page and people tended to contribute in greater numbers to fewer subjects. Probably not a good business model though.
Edit: if you mean why only post OT stuff on a bike forum then I suppose it depends what qualifies as OT to you.

Yes me too i just dont want to pay for this anymore
Welcome Back Dr Mungus - you going to make this an annual event or stay this time ?
