Apparently ernie is under threat of permanent ban in, I assume, another attempt to send subscriptions through the roof[ see also TJ claim]. Now also very helpful to overpriced goods sellers[ but not for profit sales still and its still just for mates to sell on bits as a quick scan of posting histories of classified users will confirm]

I cancelled my sub - does that count as a flounce 😉

don Simon and TSY got lifetime bans as did Smee or whoever his last incarnation was. Some of them are back now though, apparently.

To correct what DD said, I did not get a lifetime ban. I asked for my previous account to be closed/deleted/given a lengthy ban due to the serious amount of abuse that I was taking on that account. I set this account up when my father inlaw had his crash, without the intention of using it much. But hey ho - I'm using it now and so far I'm not getting any abuse, so will keep it open until that inevitably starts, which I hope it doesnt.

I suspect that the ratio of Bike:Chat posts has changed a bit over the course of the last 12 months. We certainly don't seem to see so many massive Chat threads (usually politics, nuclear power/global warming related). I'm still surprised at the number of "regulars" whose name only ever appears in the Chat forum and wonder why they chose STW as a medium for their spleen-venting.

I dont get the link between using the forum and having a subscription to the mag.

Be interesting to see a venn diagram of it all. 😉

I suspect that the ratio of Bike:Chat posts has changed a bit over the course of the last 12 months. I guess it's because the chat section is a bit livelier, more personality required perhaps? Dunno. I liked things when there was just one message board. It meant fewer boring threads stayed on the first page and people tended to contribute in greater numbers to fewer subjects. Probably not a good business model though.

Edit: if you mean why only post OT stuff on a bike forum then I suppose it depends what qualifies as OT to you.
