Sue Gray report next… yeah, right.

I reckon it will be released late on Wednesday 2nd.
Met have done a blinding job for Johnson. Hope they get the reward they deserve.

Whitewash complete then? Job jobbed by the Met

They're saying on Five Live now that all the rumours are saying the Sue Grey report is imminent and apparently absolutely damning for the oversexed honey monster

It looks to me like Johnson got away with working from his home whilst parties happened around him

Just been confirmed, no more fines for Bozza.

So the final tally is:

- 126 fines issued
- 73 to women
- 53 to men
- Majority of fines issued to Civil Servants
- Johnson and Sunak both fined for the 9 minute tea break during the working day

At this rate, Starmer's gathering could cop for more fines issued to politicians for one event than Johnson did in Downing Street over many months.

I think the Met have opened themselves up to more flack by using the 'it was home excuse'

All those people who were fined for parties in their homes will be very unhappy

You mean 126 vs ... err... 0.

Thanks that neatly, and far more eloquently than I’ll ever manage, summed up everything I hate about the current government.

When you find yourself thinking ‘at least Maggie believed in something’ you know things are bad.  It’s getting to the point where another whitewash, the Speaker protecting the perpetrator rather than the whistleblower, or the daily completely immoral and impractical policy announcement is no longer news.

Yup... Radio4 has some press journalists chewing the fat on this... apparently Johnson has got away with it, and Starmer is in a really difficult position. Yes, that was a member of staff for the Daily Mail. Setting the agenda. Blatantly. And getting away with it just as much as Johnson.

[ love that song by the way ]

Meanwhile, some important issues facing the country: media sources that don't talk up the Tories.

sauce

But she told MPs she would not "justify a news organisation whose anchor went out to shout obscenities at Tories"

So, she thinks the licence fee is unfair… and is privatising C4 which isn’t license fee funded.

She thinks the licence fee is unfair but happily gives her Netflix log in to four other people to access that for free!

Yes indeed.

End of day, someone, somewhere will be profiting from C4 being privatised-for-profit... so let's all at least pretend to be surprised when it turns out to be Dido Harding.

Pity the poor sacrificial dimwit, who nobody has ever heard of, who’s been despatched to Liverpool to defend Boris on Question Time

Fair point. There are 5 panellists and 3 are Tories. Nadine will be pleased. She may spare them for another week

They’ve got some monumentally annoying Sloaney tit on from a Tory think tank. You just know she’s got a framed picture of Fatcha up in the Knightsbridge flat that daddy bought her

So...

The unflushable turd sits in the pan mocking us. He's stronger now in the eyes of the halfwits in the general population who like him.

"Sue Gray? Poo Gray" they'll say, no matter how 'damning' her report is. "If it was that bad the coppers would have done something" they'll say.

A terrible week for right thinking people and another dangerous erosion of policing by consent.

Starmer is now in the shit. The best outcome is now a draw in the eyes of most of the population. He gets a FPN he has to resign. The Met have played a blinder for Johnson - expect some kind of promotion for the investigating officer.

Out in the real world Nancy Pelosi has said again that the UK can whistle up a flagpole if we think we're getting a free trade deal whilst *ing up the Good Friday Agreement.

But look... the Rwanda migrant story has miraculously also reappeared in the headlines - totally unconnected to other events.

This country is a *ing shambles populated by halfwits.

And to top it off I've just heard 'Dover Dominic' Raab doing his rota'd slot as dick of the day defending the unflushable turd.

Lots of dog whistle Rwanda stuff for the racists, lots of vacuous shit and, at the end, two fingers up to the public by saying that accepting a fine from the police is a form of accountability.

Sod this for a game of soldiers - I'm tuning out for the day. Play list on, earphones in.

Hopefully some disgruntled and heavily-fined civil servant is transferring files to the Sunday papers. They were all told to cooperate with the investigation, and did so, whereupon top brass like Simon Case did not, and didn't get fined. Suckers!

It's incredible, isn't it?

I saw that yesterday they made a 'policing' announcement that they would be cracking down on cocaine use at football grounds. Eh? What? Like thats what we need to be looking at at the moment. And you'll be doing that how exactly?

Just another dead cat.

Much as they want this to be an end to everything, and the MET have done everything in their power to make that so, I don't think a lot of people are in the mood to forgiving this, when comparing it to their own sacrifices during lockdown.

I'm amazed none of the apparently numerous photographs of parties at Number 10 have made it into the public domain yet. I wonder if thats about to change now the police investigation has now officially been concluded

Wasn't aware it was an issue but it might explain Evertons success and/or the implosion at Leeds 🤔

He gets a FPN he has to resign. The Met have played a blinder for Johnson – expect some kind of promotion for the investigating officer.

I guarantee that someone somewhere put serious pressure on the MET to only issue the one solitary fine for Johnson. If they had issued none then calls of a whitewash would be deafening, multiple fines would also have been trouble. But the one single one allows them to spin it as one isolated mistake at a time of severe pressure so it's "fully understandable". Well, if you ignore the denials, lies and dead cats that were thrown about to try and make it all go away.

The issue now is that Starmer has painted himself into a corner saying he'll resign if fined, presumably to put pressure on Johnson to do the same. There will now be a hell of a lot of pressure from the government on the police to make that fine a reality and get rid of Starmer, they'll spin Johnson not resigning as down to the War or that a leadership contest right now in the middle of a cost of living crisis 'is not the time'.

When you think things can't get any more surreal and ridiculous.

Doing the "Morally Correct" thing and hoping that a morally corrupt person would follow suit was a mistake. And if the Moral person thinks that the voting population of the country will see it, remember it and vote based on it in 2 years time, well that's a mistake so silly it's not even worth thinking about.

The MET, or the Tory-MET as they like to be known, has indeed played a blinder for Boris and his chums.

They'd do a lot better if they cracked down on cocaine use in the House of Commons. Poor Michael Gove won't know what's hit him.

She's now on Five Live as a political commentator, basically saying this is now Starmer who's in trouble and Boris is innocent and we need to move on

Does Nadine Dorres just now tell the BBC who they're having on to express any opinions? It certainly seems that way

Emily Carver really is like nails down a blackboard

the names of the people with multiple fines vs the names of people wit only one fine with be directly proportional to the cost of the lawyer they could or couldn’t afford to hire.

I think Durham Police issuing a fine to Starmer is now an absolutely nailed on certainty! They'll be getting massively leaned on to do so!

How utterly depressing

I dont think the cost would be a major factor. Even a cheap one could say "dont say anything".
Its those who thought it best to be honest who seem to have got screwed.
Which makes it surprising Johnson got fined at all since that isnt even one of his minor qualities.

Is it surprising, or not, that the only event that Johnson was fined for being at (even though he said none of them happened, and then that he didn't attend them, even though they did, and he did, and multiple people have been fined for attending them) is the one that the public are most likely to be sympathetic about... partly due to Chope's irrelevant but perfectly distracting jokes about cake. All the other events, less likely to draw any sympathy or understanding, that he did attend, including those were he or his wife were the host, he didn't receive a fine for. Funny that. I think I made a mistake letting my Private Eye sub run out this week... would love to read their take on this happy happenstance.

I wrote to my MP re Partygate, Covid Corruption, the state of the economy, the potential breakup of the Union to name but a few subjects (very politely and all points referenced), and he told me not to worry. BJ has got all the big calls right and he is a saint for involvement in Ukraine.

So it's OK then. Calm down at the back...out Glorious Leader is in the clear.

I replied and suggested he not be so patronising in future and look at the real picture...at least from a non Conservative perspective. Trouble is, he wants to get back into the Cabinet so he won't do anything.

I fear we are screwed and that Mhairi Black's analysis is spot on.

Mhairi Black’s analysis is spot on.

I watched that and it made me quite ashamed to be associated to this - my - country.

As above though, Boris got Brexit done, got Covid done, is leading support for Ukraine and will shortly successfully remove the Leader of the Opposition. Expect to be hearing all about that for at least another 2 - and maybe even another 6 - years.

Partygate, drugs & porn, affairs and misogyny, dodgy deals incompetence homeless and dead people and fraud are all just little squirrels.

Yeah I came to the conclusion a while back that my morals are only there to serve and benefit me. Turns out no one else GAF. I too am a useful idiot.

HIGNFY may be worth a watch tomorrow night. Shame Last Leg isn't on at the moment.

I've no idea how Boris has got away with this. It stinks. If Starmer does have to resign, I hope Labour can find a pit bull to rip the Tory sleaze apart to replace him.

They've got Angela Rayner, I think the Tories should be doing all they can to ensure Kier doesn't see fit to resign!
